Last Wednesday my mother and I returned from out long awaited trip to Lille. We went there for three days and visited nearly every pharmacy in the entire city. In other words: I have bought a ton of great products and today it’s time for the haul. If you’re interested in finding out what I bought during my vacation, make sure you continue reading!
When we arrived nearly ever store was closed since it was a Sunday. One of the only stores that was opened was a pharmacy right across the street from our hotel. We obviously went inside and I saw a ton of amazing things. Since it was only day one I decided to hold back a little, but I did end up buying two amazing things.
The first item I got is this Caudalie The Des Vignes shower gel. I hd one on my wishlist so when I saw it I knew I had to take it with me. Since it was a little vague when it comes to describing the scent I just decided to go for it and hope it didn’t end up being stinky, but luckily for me it actually smells really great.
The second item I got at that store is this little set by Caudalie. The set consists of five travel size products: a micellair water, a shampoo, a shower gel, a moisturiser and a body lotion. I though the set looked adorable and it’s a great way to give all of the products a try.
Caudalie The des Vignes (€4,99) – Caudalie Cultivons la beaute (8,99)
A day later we went to Euralille, a big indoor shopping centre right besides our hotel. Euralille is filled with amazing stores and a ton of nice restaurants. One of the first stores I went to in Euralille was Sephora. Obviously. I held back there since I am going to Warsaw later this year where they have Sephora too. The only thing I bought there is this really cute Too Faced palette. It’s called the Funfetti palette and it’s filled with a nice mixture of neutral and more fun colours. I can’t wait to give this a proper try!
Not far from Sephora was a NYX store. I have been wanting to buy their blush in Taupe for a million years but it’s always sold out. Luckily the NYX store had plenty of them left. I am really, really excited to try it out since it’s such a popular product!
Too Faced Funfetti (€37) – NYX Blush in Taupe (€6,90)
Moving on to something I got at the supermarket: the renewed Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer. As some of you might know I’m a huge fan of the Bourjois Healthy Mix range, so when I came across the renewed concealer I obviously had to buy it. I bought it in the lightest shade called Clair. I’m really curious to find out what it’s like!
Also at Carrefour (the supermarket I was talking about) I bought a pack of Sharpies. For some reason I just really like sharpies and whenever I see them in store I have to buy them. This set contains a black one, a green one, a red one and a blue one and I’m really excited about all of them.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer (€9,45) – Sharpie set (€3,75)
Moving on to some of the amazing pharmacy products I bought. Let’s start off with a whole bunch of Bioderma. I absolutely love Bioderma and I have loved that brand for years now. Since it’s way more affordable in France than it is anywhere else I decided to stock up. I ended up buying a big bottle (500ml) and a small bottle (250ml) of the Sebium version which is perfect for combination to oily skin. I also bought a duo pack of the regular kind which is great for sensitive skin.
All three products were on sale when I bought them, but I got an especially amazing deal on the duo pack. I believe the cashier has made a mistake since it was supposed to be double that price, but I don’t mind that at all!
Bioderma Sebium 250ml (€5,59) – Bioderma Sebium 500ml (€6,71) – Bioderma Duo-Pack (€8,62)
Aside from stocking up on Bioderma, I also stocked up on some Vichy products I really enjoy. First of all I bought a duo pack of my favourite Normaderm Gel Cleanser. I have been using this cleanser for a couple of years now and it’s way more affordable here which is why I bought a duo pack of it here.
I also bought a back-up of my favourite Vichy Normaderm moisturiser because I’m almost out of it. It also came with a small tube of the cleanser which is always nice for on the go.
Lastly from Vichy I purchased a tube of Vichy Normaderm 3-in-1 Exfoliator + Cleanser + Mask. I read about this on the internet and since I’m such a big fan of this range I felt like it would be a really nice product for me. It smells really good so I’m curious to see whether it will do great things for my skin too.
Vichy Normaderm Cleanser Duo (€13,98) – Vichy Normaderm Moisturiser (€9,78) – Vichy Normaderm 3-in-1 (€8,59)
Moving on to Embryolisse. Embryolisse is a very popular French skincare brand that I have been wanting to try for ages now. It’s available online, but it’s always more fun to get it in France and it’s more affordable here. At first I bought their regular cream, the Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre. I tried it out at night and when I felt my skin in the morning I knew I had to get more from that range.
So I ended up buying the lighter version too, the Embryolisse Hydra-Mat cream. This is a less intense version of the regular Embryolisse cream and probably just as amazing!
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre (€11,99) – Embryolisse Hydra-Mat (€15,99)
But that wasn’t it yet for the pharmacy purchases. I also got a couple of products from Caudalie. On day one I already got a little travel set with some of their products and a shower gel, and because I liked those products so much I ended up buying three more things. First of all I got another shower gel: the rose scent. I had a tube of it in the little travel set and it smelled so good I just needed to have it.
I also bought a full-size of the Caudalie Vinosource Fluide Mattifant Hydratant. This was on my wishlist already but when I tried the sample of it I was convinced I needed to buy this. It’s a very light weight moisturiser with a really unique texture. It feels very refreshing on the skin and it smells really nice!
The last Caudalie product I bought is their incredibly famous Caudalie Eau de Beauté or as we call it in English Beauty Elixer. You can’t read a post about French pharmacy products without reading about this. I’m really curious to see what the hype is all about!
Caudalie Rose De Vigne (€4,95) – Caudalie Vinosource Fluide (€18,49) – Caudalie Eau de Beauté (€27,99)
Moving on to Avene. Avene isn’t an unfamiliar brand to me, however I haven’t tried much of their products yet. Because the products that I have tried already ended up being so nice and because a lot of people rave about their range I decided to buy two products. The first product I got is the Cleanance Matte Emulsion. This is a nice and light weight moisturiser for blemished skin.
I also got the Avene Cleanarnce Cleansing Gel. This I bought mainly because I read so many good things about it, but also a bit because I just really like using cleansing gels. I have a lot of cleansing gels I want to try, but this is definitely one I’m very excited about!
Avene Cleanance Matte Emulsion (€8,99) – Avene Cleanance Cleansing Gel (€7,50)
If you thought that was it for the cleansing gels you are wrong. I know it might seem a bit extreme, but I bought three bottles of La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel. At first I just bought one, but when I got to a different pharmacy and found out they had a duo pack for only 4 more Euro’s than I paid for the single bottle I decided to buy that one as well. I know I really like this cleanser so now I have enough of it for the upcoming years.
The last two cleansers I got are from the brand Klorane. I had read a lot about their eye makeup removers, but when I saw they had a version for all of your makeup as well I ended up wanting that too. I don’t really know what it is that makes these two cleansers so amazing, but I’m really curious to find out!
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Cleanser (€10,44) – La Roche-Posay Effaclar Cleanser duo (€13,99) – Klorane Floral Makeup Remover (€10,99) – Klorane Floral Eye Makeup Remover (25,49)
Moving on to the two last items I got at the pharmacy. First of all I bought a big tube of the famous Biafine cream. It’s a healing cream for burn wounds, but people use it on their face and that’s supposed to work really well. I haven’t done too much research on it on what it’s actually going to do for your skin, but I’m glad I managed to get my hands on it!
I also bought a small bottle of the well known Nuxe Huile de Prodigieuse. It’s a dry oil you can use in your hair, on your face and on your body to hydrate dry areas and it’s supposed to be amazing. Since I’m not a huge fan of oil I ended up buying a small bottle of it, but so far I’m really liking it!
Biafine (€4,99) – Nuxe Huile de Prodigieuse (€11,99)
Aside from buying a ton of beauty and skincare products I also bought a some clothing and a new wallet. Mine was way too big for my bag so when I saw this one at New Look I knew I had to buy it. It’s very simple but quite elegant and it’s the perfect size for me. I’m really glad I finally found one that’s small enough to fit inside my small bag but that does have enough space for your cards!
Also at new look I got these socks. I believe they’re actually from the Christmas collection so I have no idea why they still had them, but I do really, really like them. They are absolutely adorable!
New Look Wallet (€8,99) – New Look Pug Socks (€2,-)
Aside from all those beauty purchases I also bought myself some clothing, but due to a lack of time I didn’t manage to take pictures of those pieces, which is why I’m not showing them in this post.
With that being said, it’s time to make an end to this very lengthy post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which items you want me to review (first)!
