When autumn comes around I always get super excited. It’s my favourite season for many reasons, one of which is the fact that I can start wearing berry lip colours again. Of course I could wear them al year round, but I just think they’re more fitting during autumn and winter. To celebrate the fact that it’s finally time to get out the berry lipsticks I decided to show you guys my five favourite berry and plummy lip colours that I love wearing during the colder months. If you’re interested in finding out which ones I love, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off with one of my newest berry lip colours. This is a MAC amplified cream lipstick in the shade Craving. Because of the amplified cream finish it’s very soft, creamy and rich and it’s also extremely pigmented. Another great thing about this lipstick is that it’s extremely long lasting, it stays in place for half a day even if you’re eating, talking and drinking a lot. Quality wise it’s just absolutely incredible.
When it comes to the colour I’m also a huge fan. This is a pinky berry colour. Because of the hint of pink in it it’s a little more special than your regular berry colours and it’s also a bit fresher and less dark. It’s perfect for those who don’t like wearing very dark and grungy colours like some berry and plum colours can be or for those who just like a hint of pink in their berry lip colours!
MAC Amplified Cream in Craving – €19,50
Moving on to a lipstick I got in one of my LF Beauty Boxes. This is one of the Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie lipsticks in the shade Get Ready. This is another pinky berry tone. The thing with this colour is that it looks different in different lighting. Sometimes it looks very berry, sometimes it looks more pink. When it fades it also goes a little more pink, but when you first apply it, it looks more like a berry. I do prefer the berry side of this colour, but overall it is very pretty and also super special.
The quality of this lipstick is amazing as well. It has a super rich and creamy texture and it is one of the most pigmented lipsticks I currently own. It also stains your lips a little bit so when it starts to fade you will still have a bit of a tinted lip which is something I personally really like.

Next up is my beloved Dior Addict lipstick in the shade Beige Mondaine. When I first bought this I wasn’t sure about the colour because at that time I was very young, about 13 or 14 years old, and I only wore very neutral makeup. After a couple of years I’ve grown to love this lipstick. It’s a very pretty plum/berry colour and it has a bit of a sheer finish to it which makes it wearable as well. If you apply it with a very light hand it can be super wearable, but if you put it on with a heavier hand you can also get it to look very intense and opaque.
The quality of this lipstick is just insane. It’s one of the most comfortable lipsticks I’ve ever tried. It’s almost weightless on the lips and I also feel like it actually takes care of the lips. It conditions them. It’s quite long lasting as well and it doesn’t bother me as much as the previous two lipsticks when I eat or drink because it doesn’t transfer as much.
Dior Addict Lipstick in Beige Mondaine – €38,70
Moving on to a more budget alternative. This is the Essence Sheer & Shine lipstick in the shade I Feel Pretty. It’s a very pretty berry colour but because this is a sheer lipstick it’s still very wearable. Even though I love wearing a full berry lip, I also enjoy wearing more sheer lipsticks when it comes to brighter colours on days where I feel like I want to keep my look a little more toned down and natural.
The quality of this lipstick is pretty impressive, especially if you consider the price. It has a super soft and satiny texture, it glides on to the lips so nicely and it’s also a very comfortable lipstick to wear. It’s pretty thin and lightweight so it doesn’t bother me at all and it also stays in place for a good couple of hours.
Essence Sheer & Shine Lipstick in I Feel Pretty – €1,99
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Lipstick in Smoking Plum – €38,70
Lastly we have the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Lipstick in the shade Smoking Plum. This is by far my favourite out of the five and it’s also one of my newest berry/plum lipsticks. The quality of YSL lipsticks is just amazing. They are so incredibly smooth and soft and so comfortable to wear. They aren’t the most long wearing lipsticks in the world, but considering how amazing every other aspect of this lipstick is I do accept that.
The shade is really pretty as well. If you apply one layer it’s semi-sheer and therefore a pretty wearable berry colour. If you apply another layer you can definitely build it up to something a little more opaque!
And those were my five favourite berry/plum lipsticks for autumn (and winter). I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and be sure to let me know which lipsticks are your favourites for autumn and winter!
