Along with eyeshadow, face makeup (aka foundation and concealer) are my favourite makeup products. I love trying out tons of different ones and I really like the way they make my face look. Today I’m going to share with you my ultimate favourite face makeup products. If you’re interested in finding out which products I’m talking about, make sure you keep on reading!
Let’s start off with my favourite product: foundation. The first foundation I want to show you is by MAC. It’s their Mineralize Moisture foundation. This was my first high end foundation and it made me fall in love with high end foundation. It’s the perfect colour for me and it has a really nice texture.
The reason why I like it so much is because it does actually add a bit of moisture to the skin without making you look terribly greasy. Of course it’s more likely to get greasy because of this foundation than because of a mattifying foundation, but it’s not bad and it does have a really nice finish. Aside from that it also applies really evenly and makes you skin look absolutely flawless.
A more budget proof foundation that I love is the L’Oreal Infallible 24H-Matte Foundation. This is a really nice lightweight mattifying foundation. It’s easy to use, it blends in nicely and it stays in place all day.
The thing I like about it is that it makes your skin look photoshopped. I can’t explain it in any other way than that. Your face really does look photoshopped. Not because this foundation provides that much coverage, but just because of the finish. It’s absolutely stunning.
The last foundation I wanted to show you is my beloved Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation. This is the most incredible foundation of all time. Especially if you have combination to oily skin. This foundation is matte but not too matte. It still leaves you with a bit of a natural glow but not at all in a dewy way. This is actually the only foundation I have ever tried that doesn’t require me to powder my face.
The coverage is really nice, it’s a medium to high and the finish is just stunning. When you apply it with a beautyblender it will leave your skin look absolutely flawless but if you want to go for a more high coverage look a buffing brush could really do the job for you.
My favourite face concealer is the Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer. This definitely doesn’t have high coverage, it’s more of a medium coverage, but it does such an amazing job at covering up any imperfections on my face like blemishes, spots and other redness.
The concealer also claims to be waterproof. I can’t say it really is waterproof, but it does stay in place for quite some time. Aside from that it also has a really nice scent to it.
My next favourite concealer is the Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer. The colour is obviously a bit too dark and yellow for me but that is why it’s such a great product for me. I use this as a corrector for underneath my eyes. It does a great job at cancelling out the darkness and it also provides you with a bit of coverage.
However I can’t use this concealer on its own because it’s just not my colour at all, so that is a downside.
My all time favourite concealer has to be the Lancome Long-Lasting Softening Concealer. I do think it’s a bit of a splurge but because I’m such a fan of concealer I think it’s worth it. This concealer has amazing coverage, medium to high, and is perfect for both covering up dark circles as well as covering up any blemishes on the skin.
I read lots of reviews about it which gave me the impression that this was a very high coverage concealer, like full coverage, but that isn’t the case. It does have amazing coverage and it covers up 80% of my dark circles, but don’t expect it to cover it up completely cause it won’t.
When it comes to powder I’m a huge fan of the Vichy Dermablend Finishing Powder. I first bought it about a year ago because it was a super big tub and it was a white powder and it was exactly what I was looking for at the time. The fact that this is my third tub does show how much I ended up loving it.
The thing I love about this powder is that it does an amazing job at mattifying the skin (and baking), but it’s not too heavy. It’s a very light powder that doesn’t make you look or feel cakey and it doesn’t leave you with a dull looking complexion. It’s just the best powder out there!
When it comes to application I have a few favourites. For foundation and concealer I absolutely love using the Beautyblender. It’s one of the best beauty tools in my opinion. However sometimes I do want a bit more coverage and in that case I’d rather use my beloved Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush. This really buffs the foundation into your skin and provides you with even more coverage than the Beautyblender does.
For powder I really like using the Real Techniques Blush Brush. This is quite a recent discovery to be honest, but it works really well. It applies the powder in a very light and settle way and it feels really nice to swipe the powder all over my face with this brush.
And that’s everything for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and let me know which face makeup products are your absolute favourite!
