Back in Lille I bought one of the prettiest palettes in the entire world, the Too Faced Funfetti palette. Even the packaging is to die for, isn’t it? I have had this on my wishlist for a while so finally getting my hands on it felt amazing. After giving it a good couple of tries I feel like it’s about time for me to write a review about it. If you’re interested in finding out more about this gorgeous palette, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off with discussing the packaging like we usually do. The Too Faced Funfetti palette comes in this really cute pink box with pink and gold hearts all over it and a gold circle in the middle with the name of the palette on it, just like the palette itself. Like I said before I absolutely love this packaging. I mean, doesn’t it look absolutely adorable? I really, really like it. It’s girly, it’s fun and it’s cute. It’s perfect!
The palette is made out of cardboard which isn’t my favourite material for a packaging since it is rather fragile and not water resistant at all. However, thanks to the material they were able to keep it very flat and I do like that about it. That does make storing the palette a lot easier!
On the back of the box is an image of the shades that are inside this palette along with their names. Overall the colour scheme looks pretty good. There is a good mix between neutral shades and more fun shades and between mattes and shimmers. I really think that they did a great job at that, so props for that Too Faced!
While searching for some information about this palette on the internet I found out there’s hardly anything to find. All it says is that it contains 12 matte and glossy shades with a richly pigmented formula. And it also says that all 12 shades are new to Too Faced. Aside from that I can’t find anything. No claims, no information, nothing.
So, the only thing I can say something about are the colours and the formula. Because I’m going to show you guys some swatches in a minute I think it’s best to start off by discussing the shades, one by one.
Feelin’ Good – Feelin’ Good is a neutral highlight shade with a matte finish. It’s very simple and basic but it is very effective. It’s the perfect shade for underneath the brow bone and in the inner corner.
Life’s A Party – Life’s A Party is one of the more unique shades in this palette. It’s a shimmery lilac. It’s not a colour I’d naturally gravitate towards, however I do think it looks really pretty and I might some day play around with it.
Sequin – Moving on to Sequin, another purply shade with a ton of shimmer to it. This one it a bit darker than Life’s A Party but still really, really pretty.
Over-Served – Over Served is a matte taupe shade, or in other words: a brown with a purple undertone. It’s not too dark but dark enough to darken up the crease area. I really like it!
Forever Young – Forever Young is a colour I can’t really place. It has a bit of a salmony/pink undertone and it’s matte. It could be used as a brow bone highlight, but I personally prefer Feelin’ Good or Pop, Fizz, Clink! over it.
Party Crasher – Party Crasher is one of my favourite colours in this palette. It’s a shimmery brown shade and it’s absolutely stunning. It’s simple yet unique and it looks absolutely gorgeous on the eyes.
Funfetti – Funfetti is a candy pink colour with quite a bit of shimmer to it. It’s a fun shade, but not something I would wear or even be able to pull off. Still I think it’s nice that it comes in this palette since it does fit the theme of the palette very well.
Girl Gang – Girl Gang is another one of my favourite shades. Just like Party Crasher it’s brown and shimmery eyeshadow. It’s a bit darker and warmer than Party Crasher and I just really, really like it.
Pop, Fizz, Clink! – Onto Pop, Fizz, Clink! This is another one of the lighter highlighting shades. It’s pretty similar to Feelin’ Good but it’s a little more yellowy. I really enjoy using this underneath the brow bone and in the inner corner.
After Party – After Party is probably my favourite shadow out of all of them. It’s a gorgeous shimmery gold colour with a hint of brown to it. Often gold shadows are a bit too yellowy for me, but because this one has something bronzy to it I think it looks really pretty.
You’re So Fancy – You’re So Fancy is a really pretty medium brown shade with a bit of a pinky undertone to it. It’s pretty much the only shade light enough to act as a transition shade and therefore I use it a ton.
All Nighter – Lastly we have All Nighter. All Nighter is a very deep green shade with shimmer to it. It’s definitely a unique shadow, one that I haven’t seen before and I like that about it. I’m definitely going to give it a try sometime soon!
Onto the swatches. As you can tell the shadows are all very, very pigmented. Some more than the others, but overall the pigmentation is pretty darn good. The texture of the eyeshadows is pretty much perfect as well. The shadows are very buttery and rich and they’re incredibly easy to work with. They blend really nicely and they just pop.
If you use an eyeshadow base, whether it’s an actual primer or a cream shadow, underneath these shadows will stay strong all day. Literally all day. There’s no such thing as loss of intensity or whatever. It’s just perfect and I really, really like that about this palette!
Just by looking at this palette I get happy. Isn’t it the prettiest thing you have ever seen. It’s just so diverse and unique. I definitely won’t be using every single shadow inside this palette. But even though that’s the case, I still love every single one of the shadows and also the palette as a whole. It’s just a gorgeous piece of makeup and I’m really happy with it.
The quality of the Too Faced palettes has always been great but I feel like, with this palette, they took it to the next level. All shadows are gorgeously pigmented and the texture is just insane. Well done Too Faced!
I think it’s clear that I’m head over heals in love with this palette. I like the packaging a ton, I like all of the shadows that are in there and the quality is exceptional. If you can manage to get your hands on this beauty make sure you do so. It’s totally, totally worth it!
And that is everything I wanted to say about this gorgeous palette! I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and be sure to let me know what you think of it!
XOXO, Nicole.
