Essie Splash Of Grenadine & Cocktail Bling

03/12/2015

Essie Cocktail Bling & Splash Of Grenadine Nail Polish

A while ago when I went to the drugstore with my friends I came across a few gorgeous Essie nail polishes. Because I have been loving the Essie nail polishes lately and because there was a 50% off all Essie polishes deal going on, I decided to buy two. I was super excited to test them and that’s exactly what I did. Today it’s time for the review. If you’re interested in reading more about my two newest Essie nail polishes, keep on reading!

Essie Cocktail Bling Nail Polish

Essie Cocktail Bling

Let’s start off with the colour I tried out first. This gorgeous greyish blue colour is called Cocktail Bling. I have to say that I don’t really get the name, I feel like it doesn’t really fit the colour. Aside from that I really like this polish. The colour is very unique and I don’t have anything like this yet, which is something that doesn’t happen too often.

The thing I love about Cocktail Bling is that it’s so neutral and simple, but so special at the same time. It’s a colour you really have to take a close look at in order to tell what colour it actually is. I still haven’t decided yet if this is a blue polish with a grey undertone or a grey polish with a blue undertone, but whatever it is, I’m really liking it.

Essie Cocktail Bling Nail Swatch

Cocktail Bling is a very opaque polish. I applied two coats of polish and that was more than enough. It was really easy to apply because of the large brush and it dried fairly quickly. I really like it!

The lasting power isn’t too bad either. After 4 days it started to show some tip wear, but aside from that it still looked pretty bomb. Because I’m a perfectionist like that I did take it off at day 4 because of the tip wear, but if that doesn’t bother you, you can definitely continue wearing it for another 1 or 2 days.

Essie Splash Of Grenadine Nail Polish

Essie Splash Of Grenadine

The second colour I bought is called Splash Of Grenadine. It’s a very pretty purply pink nail polish. I have been really into colour like that lately. I think it’s a perfect colour to wear all year round and it’s suitable for every occasion.

The strange thing about this polish is that it doesn’t have the white letters on the front like all of the other Essie nail polish do have. I did buy it at a legit store so I’m sure it’s not a fake polish, but I do think it’s really strange that it’s not like all of the others.

Essie Splash Of Grenadine Nail Swatch

This polish, again, was very easy to apply. I love how the Essie brushes are shaped. It enables everyone to polish their nails neatly, even if that someone is someone who usually sucks at polishing their nails. Because of the thickness of the brush the application process is a lot quicker than it would usually be and I like that. Since I have been so busy lately, I really like things like that.

Just like Cocktail Bling, Splash Of Grenadine is a very opaque nail polish that only requires two coats of polish if you want to achieve the full coverage look. It’s again quick drying and it also stays in place perfectly for 4 days, and it takes about 5 to 6 days for it to actually chip. I think that is really, really decent. Good job Essie!

2x Essie Nail Polish

Overall I have to say I’m really starting to fall in love with Essie nail polishes. I really like the colours and the quality is just amazing. I’m pretty sure I’ll get lots of wear out of these two polishes and I’m sure I’ll buy some more from this brand. They are a little bit on the more expensive side, but they’re definitely worth the money! I highly recommend them!

The Essie Nail Polishes are available at the drugstore for €9,99 each.
