Last weekend when I did some shopping I ended up getting a new Essie nail polish. This one is from the Gift Edition collection and it comes in a gorgeous pink shade. Essie nail polishes are one of my favourites when it comes to nail polish/beauty brands and I’m always excited to give another one of their polishes a try. Since it has been a while since I last did a nail polish review I figured it would be fun to do one today. So if you’re interested in finding out more about this polish, make sure you continue reading!
Packaging wise Essie is just my absolute favourite nail polish brand. Their packagings are clean, simple, classic and straight to the point. I really like the white lid and letters on it and I like that they just kept it nice and simple. It actually gives me a very professional nail salon vibe. I like that a lot!
I don’t really know why it says it’s from the Gift Edition because when I did some research about this particular shade I read that it’s also in the normal collection, but let’s just roll with it. I think it’s a gorgeous shade and I can’t wait to tell you guys more about it.
In this Gift Edition collection are quite a few, mostly festive, nail polishes. There are some chunky glittery ones, some reds, silvers, shiny ones, a greyish shade and this one called Stones ‘n Roses. I do think it’s a little odd that this comes in a collection that is, I suppose, aimed at the holiday season because this isn’t necessarily a very festive colour, but I’m glad it’s there because it’s just stunning.
Guns ‘n Roses is actually that perfect pink nail polish every girl needs in her collection. It’s a bit creamy but not at all pastel. It also has a bit of a peachy tone to it that makes it rather warm toned than cool toned and I like that. This really is one of those colours I’d wear all year round on my nails.
When it comes to quality I have nothing bad to say. Essie is just the creme de la creme when it comes to nail polish and therefore they never really disappoint me. Within one coat of polish I felt like the coverage was great, impressive actually. However I personally always like to apply a second coat (even if the first one was already enough, it’s just a habit of mine) and that makes it even more opaque.
Another great thing about this polish is that it dries rather quickly and it stays in place for quite some time. I have very weak nails and I’m very clumsy, so nail polishes have a hard time staying on my nails, but this one stayed in place for upto 4 days without even fading on the edges. How impressive!
Overall I’m really glad I got this nail varnish. It’s a great addition to my collection and it’s just absolutely stunning. I just love the colour, it’s easy to work with and it stays in place for a reasonable amount of time. I highly recommend giving it a go!
The Essie Gift Edition nail polishes are available at the drugstore for €10,-.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know how you like this colour and also let me know which Essie nail polish is your favourite!
XOXO, Nicole.
