One or maybe two months ago, Essence updated their collection again. This time they added lots and lots of amazing and interesting products. One of those products being a lip crayon with a glossy finish. Because I’m quite into lip crayons and I love glossy finishes, I decided to buy one of them and give it a try. If you’re interested in finding out how I ended up liking it, make sure you keep on reading!
The Essence Glossy Stick comes in a really pretty crayon shaped packaging. The outside of the packaging matches the colour of the pencil you chose and the letters printed on it are silver. Even though it might look like it’s a twist up pencil (because of the bottom part), it isn’t. This is a pencil you have to sharpen using a big sharpener. Even though I’d have liked it even more if you were able to twist it up instead of sharpen it, I like the way the packaging looks.
The packaging itself doesn’t feel super cheap at all and I don’t think it looks cheap either. I think Essence has been doing an amazing job when it comes to create better packagings the last few years. Keep up the good work, Essence!
The pencil I chose is called Poshi Pink. Poshi Pink is a very bright colour. It’s a bit of a combination between fuchsia and berry. I really like the colour, it’s very unique in my collection. It’s bright and fun and perfect for pretty much every season, which is why I love it so much.
The Essence Glossy Sticks are, like the name suggests, lip products with a glossy finish. They also have a few matte ones in their collection, but since I’m a huge fan of glossy lip products, I decided this one would be best for me. Because of the glossy finish this lip pencil is very comfortable to wear. It feels moisturising, lightweight and creamy on the lips. I like it!
Pigmentation wise this lip crayon is absolutely incredible. It’s super pigmented and intense and it’s also super easy to apply because it’s in the shape of a pencil. It’s really like you’re just colouring in your lips. It’s so easy to work with, everyone can do it, even if you’re not too precise or not too good with bright lip products.
The staying power is not disappoint either. It isn’t the most long lasting thing I’ve ever worn, but it’s definitely not bad. On me it stays in place for about 3 to 4 hours. Not outstanding, not below average, just right!
Overall I think the Essence Glossy Stick is a really nice product. It’s comfortable to wear, it’s very pigmented, it’s extremely easy to work with and the colour is absolutely gorgeous. I really enjoy using it and I’m sure I’ll get lots of wear out of it this summer. I highly recommend giving it a try!
The Essence Glossy Stick is available at the drugstore for €1,99.
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know which new Essence product is your favourite!

Klinkt goed!
