E.L.F. Blush Palette Dark

06/12/2015

ELF Blush Palette Dark Packaging

Throughout the years E.L.F. has always been one of my favourite budget makeup brands. Their products are just fantastic. The quality is great and it’s super affordable. A while ago E.L.F. asked me if I wanted to try out some of their products and obviously I said yes. One of the products I decided to try out is their Blush Palette in Dark and today it’s time for the review. If you’re interested in reading more about it, keep on reading!

E.L.F. Blush palette packaging

The E.L.F. Blush Palette comes in a pretty basic box. It’s black and has a picture of the inside of the palette printed on it. The palette itself comes in an even more basic box. It’s pretty much just plain black and has the brand written on it. I do really like the simplicity. It’s elegant and professional looking and I really like that.

Another thing I really like about the packaging is that you can take one of the blushes out of the palette. This is really convenient if you have multiple E.L.F. palettes because that way you can  kind of create your own palette and you only have to carry one palette with you when you’re travelling instead of multiple ones. Good thinking E.L.F.!

ELF Blush Palette Shades

The blush palette comes in two different ‘shades’: light and dark. Light contains some brighter shades like bright pink and a pretty bright peach colour and Dark, which is the one I have contains darker colours like a darker red/plummy colour and a warm peach shade. I really like the both of them, but because I really enjoy using dark red blushes I decided to go for this version.

Before I jump into anything regarding the colours and the quality of the product, I do want to mention that even for super pale girls like me, colours like this can be wearable. I’m probably the palest girl you will ever meet and even I can pull of super intense and scary blush colours like these. Just make sure you don’t over apply and colours like this can look fantastic on you! Don’t get scared because they look so extreme.

ELF Blush Palette

Onto the colours. Let’s start off with the colour in the top left corner. This is the peachy shade. It’s completely matte and really pretty. It is quite orange but still really wearable. I think this is definitely a colour everyone can pull off and I think it’s really appropriate for everyday wear.

The colour next to it is a bit more pink. This one is completely matte as well and I really like that about it. This colour is actually one of my favourites because it does have that bit of redness in it which I really like, but at the same time it’s also very fresh and kind of bright and it really brightens up my entire face.

Onto the third colour. This is the only slightly shimmery shade in the palette. It doesn’t have an awful lot of shimmer to it, but it does have a few glitters here and there. Even though I usually prefer matte blushes, I do really like this one. It’s very pretty and goes very well with pretty much all of my eyelooks.

The last colour in this palette is probably my favourite. I just love colours like this. It’s matte, it’s dark and it’s wonderful. I absolutely love wearing colours like this during autumn and winter time. It’s absolutely stunning.

ELF Blush Palette Dark

Quality wise I’m actually really impressed by these blushes. They have a very nice texture and they blend really nicely on the skin. Some more affordable blushes tend to be a bit blotchy and apply very unevenly, but these four blushes are not like that at all. They are super easy to apply, just make sure you’re using a light hand!

The lasting power is even more amazing. These blushes stay in place so extremely well.  They are fool proof and therefore these blushes have become my go to blushes for days I just want my makeup to stay put. I’m so impressed by that!

E.L.F. Blush Palette Swatches

Pigmentation wise these blushes are just incredible. They are so pigmented so easy to work with. I absolutely love that about it. I also really like that they aren’t powdery or dusty at all, which is something other budget brands do struggle with a lot. I think E.L.F. did really well creating these blushes.

ELF Blush Palette Dark Box

Overall I have to say I’m impressed. This blush palette really blew me away. I absolutely adore the colours that come in it and the quality is just incredible. This is definitely a great palette for everyday use and it’s super convenient to take with you when you’re travelling or even when you’re going to a sleepover or something like that. This palette has definitely become one of my go-to’s and therefore I highly recommend it!

The E.L.F. Blush Palette in Dark is available at eyeslipsface.nl for €6,80.

That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know which E.L.F. product is your absolute favourite!

I love this pallette. Especially for my skin tone. The best part it doesn’t cost much. They have some great beauty products.
