Diorskin Star Concealer

21/01/2017

The last few weeks I’ve been eying on this concealer by Dior. The Diorskin Star Concealer. I heard a few people rave about it and since I’m a big fan of Dior makeup it didn’t take much to convince me to buy it. So, I bought it. I’ve been trying it out for a two or three weeks now so I think it’s right about time for me to review it. If you’re interested in finding out more about it, make sure you continue reading!

Let’s start off with discussing the packaging, one of my favourite things when it comes to Dior makeup. Dior always slays it when it comes to packaging. Their packagings are elegant, chic and classy. They show that Dior is a luxury brand and I like that. This packaging is nothing less than that. The concealer comes in a clear plastic bottle with a shiny dark blue lid and a silver piece in between those two parts. On the front of the tube it says “Diorskin Star Concealer” in blue and that’s it. I love it! The bottle isn’t very big but it does come with 6 ml of product which is average for a concealer.

When you take off the lid you’ll find the applicator. It’s one of those angled sponge applicators that look a lot like lipgloss applicators. In my opinion these are the nicest applicators a concealer can have. It makes the application easy and quick.

The Diorskin Star concealer doesn’t come in many shades. I believe they had about three on their website. I don’t really get why they those to do that since they do have more shades of foundation, but ok. I obviously chose shade number 001 since I’m very pale and this is basically the best option for me. I have to say that Dior concealers (and foundations) are quite yellow and not that light so it’s not the most perfect match in the world, but it looks just fine.

The concealer has a really nice texture. It’s just like the foundation very silky and smooth. It applies really easy and it’s also easy to blend into the skin. Once applied it actually feels weightless. you really don’t feel like you’re wearing any concealer and in my opinion that’s quite impressive. I really think that that’s a big plus when it comes to this concealer.

It was hard for me to capture what the coverage of this concealer so I ended up not adding that picture into the post since it wouldn’t add anything to it. But in my opinion the coverage is great. It’s definitely a medium to high coverage concealer. It covers up my dark circles better than most other concealers I own and it makes the skin underneath my eyes look very natural but perfect.

I don’t know what it is, but the finish of this concealer is just so natural. Some concealers, like the Nars Radiant Creamy concealer, are slightly visible once applied underneath the eye. Especially if that area tends to be quite dry you can tell there’s some concealer on there. When I’m using this concealer I don’t experience that at all. It’s just invisible but it does get rid of the dark circles.

When it comes to covering up pimples this concealer does do a great job too, but I think other concealers might be better for that. I personally don’t really like spot-concealing anyway because I feel like there’s no way you’re actually going to make a pimple invisible since you can’t get rid of the texture, so that doesn’t really bother me. However, if you are on the hunt for a great spot-concealer, this isn’t it.

But overall I’m really happy with this concealer. I like how light-weight it is and how natural it looks while still providing quite a lot of coverage. I really love the way this looks underneath my eyes and I love how it wears throughout the day. It’s one of the best concealers I have tried so far and therefore I highly recommend it!

The Diorskin Star Concealer is available at Douglas & Ici Paris XL for €35,95.

That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which concealer you’re currently using!

XOXO, Nicole.

Wow the packaging is really great! I’m very curious what this concealer looks like on your skin and I would love to try it myself! Although a yellow colour isn’t the best choice for me. Malou x

Klinkt als een fijne concealer! Wel jammer dat er maar drie kleuren verkrijgbaar zijn.

Dior has launched a similar concealer I believe. But at the moment I’m all about the Nars Radiant Creamy or the Lancome Tube. That is amazing as well!
