Spring is here, which means that Dior is launching a brand new seasonal collection full of really pretty pieces of makeup. This year’s collection is called Wilde Earth and I absolutely adore every single product in this collection. Because I liked the look of the products so much, I decided to treat myself and get myself the bronzer from the range. I don’t usually buy a ton of bronzers, but this time I was very into the idea of getting one. So I bought the Diorskin Mineral Nude Bronze Wilde Earth Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder. Today it’s time for the review. So, if you’re interested in finding out if this brand new Dior bronzing powder is as good as it looks, make sure you continue reading this post!
Like all Dior products, this powder comes with a classic little bag to protect it from the bad. It’s so extra, so unnecessary, and still I like it a lot. It’s just so luxurious and it feels so pretty. And lord do I love the feel of a brand new and clean compact sleeve. It’s so untouched, so clean. After a week this will be gone, so I do really try to enjoy this moment to the fullest. Yup, I’m just as extra as the little bag. I admit.
Anyway, the powder itself comes in a stunning, and classic Dior packaging. It’s a compact with a silver lid with the classic Dior pattern in it. The bottom of the compact is bronze. This is what makes this compact different if you compare it to their regular compacts. The regular ones have a silver bottom as well. But lord, I love the look of this so much. It’s summery and classic, all in one!
When you open the compact, you’ll find a big mirror on the inside of the lid. This is very handy and useful when travelling. I can always appreciate a good mirror like that. The powder itself looks absolutely stunning as well. You get a total of 8 grams of powder in this compact. That isn’t an awful lot, but I do think it’s okay. These Dior powders usually last forever.
Dior Mineral Nude Bronze Wild Earth – €46,50
This Wild Earth Bronze Powder from Dior is available in two shades. A lighter shade called 01 Soft Terra. This is a very pale bronze colour with quite a bit of warmth to it. From the looks of it, it does look very light. Even for a pale girl like me, it’s light. And therefore I wasn’t sure whether it was going to look okay on me. The other available option is 02 Warm Terra. This one has a deeper brown colour and isn’t as warm toned as Soft Terra is. In the store it actually seemed like a better shade for me. But when the sales lady applied Soft Terra to my face, I knew that would be the perfect match after all.
The thing I love about this product is that it’s more special than any other (Dior) bronzer. And the reason for that is the pretty pattern in the powder. the animal print kind of pattern. It makes it more special and it reminds me of the fact that it’s from a limited edition collection. I could see why no one will actually care about things like that. But, being the makeup lover that I am, I do think details like this are very fun.
Like I said, Soft Terra is quite a warm bronzy colour. It does have more than enough orange tones to it. If you have super, super pale skin, this might be tricky. I am super pale, so I do have to be really careful with this product. I shouldn’t use too much and I should apply it with a big fluffy brush so it’s nice and blended.
According to Dior, the pattern in their Wild Earth Bronze Powder is hand-hammered and should look like copper. The powder is infused with golden minerals, so it captures the light and heightens the bronzed look of the skin. It should warm up the colour of the complexion for a unique, luminous and natural effect that makes you appear naturally tanned. The minerals in this powder have beneficial properties and the active formula protects the skin from external elements and impurities. Enriched in vitamins and trace elements, the powder allows the skin to breathe.
It all does sound very interesting. I love the idea of the minerals and vitamins in this powder. But I do think they’ve been very smart about it, since they don’t really mention what minerals and vitamins are in there exactly. Smart move, Dior.
Anyway, from the looks of it this is a very high-quality powder. It looks like the formula is just right, like we know it from Dior. The shade was a bit off-putting for me at first. But once I’ve tried it on my actual face, I ended up really liking the look of it. That shows that you really should try something on before purchasing it!
When I touched this powder for the very first time, I already noticed that this really is what I’m used to from Dior. A very fine, silky soft powder that is definitely very high quality. It feels super smooth and it also applies very smoothly. Like a dream to be exact. It’s one of those powders you hardly have to blend, because it blends itself. It’s such an effortless product. And who doesn’t like that these days?! I mean, I know for sure that I ain’t got the time to be blending my bronzer for hours on end in the morning. I’m always two minutes short on time, if not more.
The colour is definitely pretty warm, and therefore I do think it’s perfect for the summer time. It really warms up the complexion and adds that sun-kissed look to the face. I like to apply it in the popular ‘3’ or ‘E’ shape on my face. Along my jawline, underneath my cheekbones and around my forehead. Especially the forehead part makes a huge difference. Even on my pale complexion, it looks super, super sunny.
The staying power of the powder is by far one of the most incredible things about it. I don’t know how Dior does this, because more often than not, powders aren’t that longlasting. But in this case it is. It stays in place literally all day long. You really don’t have to worry about it.
All in all I’m just head over heels with my new Dior Wild Earth Bronzin Powder. I love Dior as a brand, you guys know that. But this is definitely a gem. Even if I’d look at it from a completely objective perspective, I just adore this product. Look at it you guys, it’s just so stunning. And the quality is to die for. I mean, this is the softest and smoothest powder ever. It literally blends itself while applying it. Nope, I can’t live without this anymore!
And with that being said I think it’s time to end today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it, and be sure to let me know what you think of this bronzer and if you’d buy it!
Mooie review! Ik ben altijd zo’n type die dit dan koopt en dan het doosje laat vallen en alles kapot is!
