Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation in 0N

22/03/2019

Not too long ago I found out that Dior had launched a whole new foundation. As a big Dior fan and lover, and especially a Dior foundation lover, I knew from the moment I saw it that I needed to have it. I have to admit that I’m not as in love with their most recent foundation launches as I am with their older one, but I like to give every new one a proper try. And this time I had very high hopes. The foundation I bought is called the Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation and it’s supposed to be a glowy version of their (terrible) Dior Forever Foundation. If you’re interested in finding out whether or not this turned out to be as bad as the Forever Foundation, make sure you continue reading!

The Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation comes in one of their classic packagings. It’s a glass, shiny bottle with a shiny navy lid. Just like the old days. In a way the packaging reminds me a little bit of the packaging on the Dior Star Foundation which I loved. The main difference between them is that this one looks a bit more modern and isn’t as square shaped as that one was. But okay, long story short: we got our old (and stunning) glass packaging back and that has been a while for me. So I’m really happy about that.

Just like most Dior foundations, this one comes with a gorgeous silver pump. I feel like the pumps on Dior foundations are always very proper. They are easy to use and you can easily control the amount of product you want to get out of them. That seems like something very normal, but trust me when I tell you that isn’t always the case. Not at all actually.

So all in all I really love the packaging on this new Dior Skin Glow foundation. I was hoping that Dior would ever come back with one of their more old-school foundations like the Diorskin Nude and the Diorskin Star. I mean, recently they have been gone into a different direction with the Dior Forever Undercover and the Dior Backstage Face & Body and I didn’t like those two foundations as much as I loved the old-school ones.

Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation – €49

Another big plus about this new Dior Forever Skin Glow foundation is that they finally came out with more than just 5 shades. They did do that in those newer ranges of foundations already, but not in these classic ones. Their lightest shade in their old foundations was like 010 and it was always on the dark side for me. So I was really happy when I found out they did a shade lighter than that in this new range. Sadly I couldn’t find this shade in Dutch stores, but online I did manage to find it and get my hands on it.

The shade I ended up buying is called 0N. This is the lightest shade they make and it’s a shade lighter than their 010 shade, which used to be the lightest option. The shade 1N is the same as 010, so if 010 was your match, go for 1N in this foundation.

Obviously it’s always difficult to find the right shade when you’re shopping online. The shade can look different in all pictures because of the lighting but also because of the editting that might have been done. Luckily I have some experience with that and I managed to find the perfect match for my skin tone. I mean, this is just a complete match for me. I’m so happy about that!

According to Dior their Forever Skin Glow foundation is a spin-off of their famous Dior Forever foundation. It has a radiant finish and makes the complexion appear flawless with tightened pores. The enveloping fluid foundation does not just instantly embellish the skin: it improves its beauty day after day with a formula enriched in meticulously selected skincare ingredients to reveal the skin’s full sensuality. The foundation should offer a 24 hour radiant and even complexion with a naturally vibrant shine-free glow. It also has SPF 35 PA++ protection.

All in all it sounds like a really nice foundation. The fact that it’s called ‘Skin Glow’ does give me the impression that this is going to be a foundation that will look natural and feel lightweight on the skin. However, it is based on the Diorskin Forever Foundation which I didn’t like at all. So there’s a proper chance that this foundation won’t be as amazing as I hope it would be.

One thing that I did notice after wearing this foundation for a couple weeks straight is that it does indeed improve the quality of the skin. I didn’t know what happened, but I definitely noticed my skin feeling and looking more healthy after a couple weeks in. When I remove the foundation at the end of the day my skin looks calm and smooth. That’s a great bonus to get in a foundation!

In terms of coverage I’m very impressed by this foundation. The formula is really nice and thin, but it does have that silkiness to it that I love so much about Dior foundations. This makes it go onto the skin so easily. It’s almost as if it blends itself into the skin. How incredible?! This creates a very natural looking finish and I definitely think you can tell that that’s the case from the picture. You can’t even tell that I’m wearing foundation but my skin does look very even compared to the before pictures. It has covered up the redness on my cheeks and around my nose. I really love the way it looks.

In terms of the finish I’m a big fan. This is a skin glow foundation so you can expect it to have a natural glow to it. But like it claims, it’s a shine-free glow. So it’s not like you’re oily looking or greasy, but it just adds a natural glow to the skin. The type of natural glow that you want and that makes your foundation look more natural. I love that a lot.

In terms of staying power I’m impressed as well. This foundation does in fact stay in place all day long. That’s not something you expect when you’re buying a glowy foundation like this one, but it is definitely true. The foundation doesn’t get super oily throughout the day, even though I do have oily skin. Whenever it does get a tiny but greasy, it’s easy to blot and by blotting it, you’re not removing the product from your face.

All in all I’m really happy I decided to buy this new Dior Forever Skin Glow Foundation. From the moment I saw it I knew I had to try it. I mean this is exactly the type of product that made me fall in love with Dior makeup in the first place. It’s just so flippin’ good. It’s basically perfection in a bottle. It has the right amount of coverage, the perfect finish and it stays in place all day long. I really can’t think of something else you might want in a foundation. I really can’t.

And with that being said I’m going to end today’s post. Thank you so much for reading and please be sure to let me know what you think of this foundation and also let me know whether or not you love Dior foundation!

This foundation looks so natural on you! I’ve never tried out anything from Dior but I’d love to try this one.
