Like most of you guys probably know by now I’m obsessed with Dior, especially their foundations. I just think they’re the best. Because I’ve had such a good experience with the other two Dior foundations I previously bought, I decided it was time for me to add another one to my collection. This time I bought the Diorskin Nude foundation. Today it’s time for the review. If you’re interested in finding out more about this foundation, make sure you continue reading!
Like all other Dior foundations, this one comes in a stunning packaging. The box in which you receive it is shiny blue and the bottle itself is made out of glass, has white letters on it and has silver details. Overall it looks extremely pretty and very luxurious. You can definitely tell by just looking at the packaging that you’re dealing with Dior here and I love that about it!
Having said that, let’s move onto the foundation itself. The Diorskin Nude foundation is a foundation meant to create flawless looking skin with a glow. In other words: a dewy but even complexion. The foundation should make your skin look naturally beautiful in every situation and because of the skincare ingredients it’s also supposed to actually make your real skin look better.
The shade I got is called 010 Ivory. It’s the lightest shade out of the bunch and for very pale people like me it’s just right. Even though the other two Dior foundations I own are in 010 Ivory as well, I feel like this one might just be a little tiny bit lighter than those when it comes to the shade. I’m not completely sure whether that’s actually true or not, but I do think so.
There are a lot of aspects of this foundation which all together make this foundation absolutely incredible. One of aspects is the fact that it has SPF 15 in it. It’s not a lot, but for a foundation I think SPF 15 is just about right. I’m someone who -shame on me- always forgets to put sunscreen on my face, so for me every little bit of sunscreen in my makeup is a great thing.
Another thing that makes this foundation really amazing is the fact that it has such an amazing, dior-like, texture. I have discussed this a million times already, but there’s just something about the texture of Dior foundations. Well all of their products have exceptional textures, but their foundations are just the best. The texture is so silky and soft. It’s like they put silk in a bottle. If this doesn’t make any sense right now, which I can totally understand, go to the store and try it for yourself. You’ll see it’s really amazing.
Because of this really nice silky texture there is almost no way this foundation can look cakey or not-flawless on your face. It just melts on your face and creates a very natural yet gorgeous and flawless finish. It’s also very easy to work with. Whether you blend it in using a brush or using a damp Beautyblender, it will end up looking flawless. You don’t have to worry about patches, unevenness or anything like that. It’s pretty much a fool proof foundation when it comes to that.
The coverage of this foundation is really nice. Even though it definitely isn’t full coverage, it does provide enough coverage for me to feel comfortable with it and for me to think it’s enough for the price. I mean if I buy a luxury foundation I do want it to cover. That’s its main purpose so that’s something it should most certainly do.
When it comes to staying power Dior didn’t let me down at all. As we’re used to from Dior this foundation stays in place perfectly all day. It even gets a little prettier once it has been on your face for a while because then it really melts into the skin in a gorgeous way.
What I like about it is that even if my face does start to get a little oily, this foundation won’t transfer onto other things like my hands, my clothing or my bedsheets. It just stays put and that’s amazing.
Overall I think that the Dior Diorskin Nude Foundation is an incredible product. It’s everything I loved about Dior already and more. It’s perfection in a bottle. If you’re on the hunt for a luxury foundation that is 100% worth the price, this is definitely the foundation I’d recommend to you, for sure!
The Dior Diorskin Nude Foundation is available at Douglas, Ici Paris and Sephora for €51,90.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which foundation is your current favourite!
XOXO, Nicole.
