As a birthday present my mom gifted me this gorgeous Dior Addict Lip Lacquer Stick in the shade L.A. Pink. I’ve been meaning to try one of the Dior Lip Lacquer Sticks for so long so I was really happy when I finally got one so I could finally see what it is like. My birthday was back in October so it has been a while since I got this lipstick, which means I have had plenty of time to properly try and test this lipstick. Today I’m going to tell you guys all the ins and outs about it, so if you’re interested in reading about that, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start this review off like all reviews by talking about the packaging. Like most of you probably know by now I absolutely love the Dior packagings. I mean look at how classic and luxurious this looks. The Dior logo on the purple-coloured tube, the silver coloured part and the gorgeous CD logo on that. Everything about this lipstick is just so precious and perfect, I just adore the way that this looks. It also feels nice and hefty and very well made. I now that this is just a packaging and that a packaging doesn’t say anything about the quality of the product, but the packaging is part of the experience and that also means something to me.
Before we jump into more details, let’s first talk about this range of lipstick from Dior. Dior does have quite a few different ranges of lipsticks. So far my favourite collection had been the Dior Addict Lipsticks, which come in a similar packaging as the one I’m reviewing today, but instead of being purple on the outside those are just silver. This lipstick is quite similar to the normal Dior Addict Lipsticks which is why I had pretty high hopes for this!

The shade I got is called L.A. Pink. I do think it’s a nice name and since this lipstick is pink I also think it’s a very fitting colour. I do really appreciate it when brands come up with rather fun names for their lipsticks, but a classic name like this is alright with me as well. As long as it’s something more than just a number I’m already pretty happy about it.
Anyway, L.A. Pink is a very pretty ‘more-than-nude’ colour as I like to call it. It is a very wearable shade, but it’s not like your typical nudes or natural pinks. It’s a little darker and a little more purple than that, but that does make it a little more fun and exciting to wear than just a regular nude colour. At least it is in my opinion. I can understand that for some of you this colour might not be considered a wearable shade, but for me it is.
One thing I didn’t expect about this lipstick is that it would be this pigmented. I though it would be a little more on the sheer side and therefore even more wearable. However, this really is like a lip lacquer in a lipstick, so it’s very pigmented and opaque. I do like that about it and I do think that that’s going to be something a lot of people are going to like about this product, but do keep that in mind while choosing a colour!
So, let’s start talking about the quality of this lipstick. Of course Dior lipsticks are rather expensive and because they are I do have pretty high hopes for them. I do think that if you’re asking about 40 Euro’s for a lipstick it should be the best lipstick your lips will ever touch, or at least something near that level of amazingness. So, let’s look at the claims and see what Dior has to say about this lipstick.
According to Dior this is an innovative lacquer stick that is supposed to be both easy to apply as well as easy to wear. It’s a lipstick with a ‘lip fondant’ effect, which means that it’s supposed to have all of the colour and shine of a lacquer combined with the comfort of a balm. It’s also supposed to wear for up to 6 hours and have an incredible texture.
Overall it sounds like Dior tried to create a combination of liquid lipsticks and lipsticks, which are two very popular products nowadays. Usually I’m not a big fan of liquid lipstick at all, but the combination of a liquid lipstick and a lipstick does seem very interesting to me. It seems like this is going to be the best of both worlds: the pigmentation and longevity of a liquid lipstick and the comfort of a lipstick.
But is it all that? Is it the combination of products we’ve all been waiting for? Well, in short I think it is. I am so amazed by how incredible this product is. I did have extremely high expectations, but this product actually exceeded those expectations. It really is that amazing and I’m going to tell you exactly why.
Let’s start off by discussing the texture. Like the regular Dior Addict Lipsticks the texture is very smooth, soft and incredibly comfortable to wear. It glides over the lips like the most luxurious lip balm your lips have ever touched and that really is an incredible experience. Even if the rest of the lipstick would be extremely terrible, the texture would make this lipstick worth it for me. It really is something different compared to other lipsticks out there, which is why I think everyone who loves lipsticks should at least try one of these Dior Addict (Lip Lacquer Stick) lipsticks.
Because of that amazingly smooth texture the lipstick is so easy to apply. It takes a split second and your lips will look incredible. But it’s not just quick, it’s also very smooth and even. I find it really hard to find the right words to describe what I’m trying to say, but maybe the swatch that I will show you in a second will make things clear for you. I really hope it does!
Pigmentation wise this lipstick is even more amazing than it already was. Now that I’m looking at it I don’t think this picture does the lipstick justice, but it’s the best I can do. The lipstick has the same amount of pigmentation as a liquid lipstick would, but thanks to the gorgeous natural-glow-finish it looks way more natural and it’s so much more comfortable to wear. Really, I hate how dry my lips feel when I wear a liquid lipstick, which is why I never wear them. But this lipstick gives you the best of both worlds, thanks to this you can get that amount of pigmentation on your lips (and the longevity) without your lips drying out completely.
Like I said this lipstick also has the longevity of a liquid lipstick and I really mean that. It actually surprised me how long this lipstick stayed in place. It stays in place for more than 6 hours, even if you eat or drink. Of course it does fade throughout the day if you’re eating and drinking, but at the end of the day there will stil be a bit of it left. I really haven’t tried another lipstick that stayed in place for that long, so this really, really impressed me!
Overall I’m just a huge, huge fan of this Dior Lip Lacquer Lipstick. I think that it’s a very innovative product because it actually combines a lip lacquer and a lipstick and it allows you to have the best of both worlds. It’s the most comfortable lipstick ever, it is extremely pigmented and it literally stays in place all day. What more can you want from a lipstick?
And that’s pretty much it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know what you think of this gorgeous lipstick and what you think of Dior lipsticks in general!
Lovely colour!!
