Everybody knows those super popular cult favourite makeup products. Those products you see everywhere and apparently everyone who matters owns those products and is talking about them. Today I’m going to discuss some of the cult favourites I own and let you guys know whether I think it’s actually worth the title or not. If you’re curious to find out more, make sure you continue reading!
One of the first cult favourite products I owned are the Urban Decay Naked palettes. I saw them literally everywhere and I just wanted them. Them were always sold out so it was quite difficult to get your hands on them, but when I finally managed to do so I was extremely happy and excited.
I’ve used all three Naked palettes I own with lots of love throughout the years and when I use them nowadays I still really enjoy them. The quality of the shadows is just incredibly amazing and the colours are absolutely stunning. In conclusion I definitely think the Urban Decay Naked palettes are worth the title: cult favourite!
Onto another old cult favourite, the Too Faced Natural Eye palette. It was a little less hyped as the Urban Decay Naked Palettes, but there were still millions of people who just went crazy for this palette. And I was one of them. It still is one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes nowadays and I think that says a lot about it.
The shadows in this palette are just so incredibly gorgeous. The shades are perfect and the pigmentation is too. You just can’t go wrong when you use this palette and that is an incredibly big plus. Aside from that literally every guy I ever came across complimented me on my eyeshadow when I wore this palette! So yeah, this is definitely worth its title!
The next cult favourite is another pretty old one. I’m talking about the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Powder. This was, I believe, the first loose finishing powder I ever knew of. Before that I didn’t really know much about loose powder and I didn’t really get why you would use something loose that was way harder to use than something pressed.
After trying out lots of loose powders I finally decided to give this old cult favourite a try. I have to say it’s a nice powder, it’s definitely not bad at all. However, I don’t think it’s the best powder in the world. It’s very finely mild and it works great, but when you take pictures with flash your face will look completely white and that’s just not the look I’m going for. As long as you stay away from flash photography (or a lot of sunlight directly onto your face), this is a great powder that is worth its title, but if you can’t stay away from that, I think you should stay away from this powder.
Onto a cult favourite that has been around for long, but still is pretty popular: the beautyblender. I feel like the beautyblender has been around for ages and everyone goes through periods of being obsessed with it and going back to brushes. I can totally relate to that.
It was only about a year ago I bought my first beautyblender and I still love it to death. It’s just the perfect tool to create the perfect face makeup look with a flawless and even finish without having to put in too much effort. I think it’s the most genius thing ever and I think everyone should own at least one!
I don’t know who still remembers this next cult favourite but I’m sure I do. It’s the Rosebud Salve. About 5 (or more) years ago this was all the range. Especially among the American youtube community. When I saw they finally came to the Netherlands I immediately bought my own jar and I loved it so incredibly much.
The thing with this Rosebud Salve is that it’s not just a lip balm. It’s also perfect for dry patches on your elbows, knees, you name it. Aside from that it’s just very effective and it smells really, really good. I absolutely love this and therefore this is, just like all the other items, worth its title.
Onto a product I only recently got: the Nars Sheer Glow foundation. This must be one of the most popular foundations ever. There’s literally no one I haven’t heard raving about this and now I finally gave in and decided to give it a try for myself. The famous Nars Sheer Glow foundation.
Because a review about this will be up soon I’m not going into so much detail why I like this, but let’s just say I think this foundation is completely, completely worth the hype! I love it!
We’re nearing the end. The second last product I wanted to talk about in today’s post is the famous Benefit Hoola Bronzer. I mean who doesn’t know about this little guy. It was pretty much the first bronzer I ever heard about almost 7 years ago and only a couple of months ago I finally gave in and decided to give it a try for myself.
Ever since I did that I have been in love with this bronzer. It’s pigmented and intense and you can definitely go wrong with this. But if you apply it correctly this is just stunning. It’s the best bronzer I have ever tried and I’m pretty sure not many products can top this. I certainly think this is worth the title!
The last product is another one everybody (should) know about: MAC Soft & Gentle. This might even be the most popular product out of all the ones I’ve discussed today. It’s MAC’s most stunning Mineralized Skinfinish and everybody owns it. It’s supposed to be the perfect product to create the perfect glow and it’s just a must have.
I have it for about 1.5 years now and I have to say: I get the hype but I don’t. The thing is, when this highlighter was at its peak there weren’t many other very popular highlighters. So at the time this was the very best. Nowadays highlighter is a very popular product and so many brands came out with so many even more amazing highlighters that this kinda disappeared to the background. In my opinion it’s still and amazing product and it’s still a cult product, but there are better things out there right now.
And that pretty much concludes today’s post! I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which cult favourites you have tried & tested!
