About two to three weeks ago I treated myself with a gorgeous set of makeup by the brand IT Cosmetics. So far I had only tried their Brow Power eyebrow pencil (which I reviewed recently) and I loved that. This set contained even more of their star products so I couldn’t wait to give those a try as well. Another thing it came with is a brush. It’s their Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush. Today it’s time for me to review it. So, if you’re interested in finding out more about this heavenly brush, make sure you continue reading!
First things first: the design. The design of the brush is fairly simple. The middle part is black and has the name of the brand printed on it in silver and the handles are silver. The black part is made out of this rubbery black material which does tend to get dirty pretty easily which is a slight downside, but I do really like the feel of it.
As you can tell the brush has two sides: one very big side and a smaller side. I’m still not really sure whether or not I like dual ended brushes, but I do appreciate them.
So, let’s dive into the brush. Let’s start off with the big side. This side is made for blending in your foundation, but it could also perfectly be used for applying powder. That’s totally up to you. I personally am really picky when it comes to foundation brushes. Until now the only brush I really love for blending in my foundation is the Sigma F80 Flat Top Kabuki brush. Therefore I didn’t really have high hopes for this one.
However, it totally surprised me. Even though it doesn’t have all of the features a foundation brush should have according to me, it works wonderful. It’s a combination between a kabuki/buffer brush and a powder brush. It’s soft and fluffy yet dense and strong. It applies my foundation beautifully without creating any streaks, patches or other weirdness on my face. I love it!
The other side is a lot smaller, it’s the concealer side. The hair type used for this side is pretty similar to the hairs used on the other side, yet this side is a little less dense. It’s a bit more like those strange blending brushes you can find on Ebay. For eyeshadow I wouldn’t like this type of brush, it’s just not my thing, but for concealer I did have high hopes.
Before I’m going to tell you what I think of this brush I do want to tell you guys that I don’t have a single concealer brush that I actually like. I’m just not convinced concealer brushes work for me. This one isn’t the one either. Don’t get me wrong, quality wise it’s an amazing brush and if you’re into concealer brushes this could definitely work for you, but for me it just doesn’t do it. I feel like I get more coverage out of a concealer when I blend it in using my fingers or using a sponge, so nope, this isn’t a brush I’m in love with.
When it comes to the overall quality I really don’t have anything bad to say about this brush. The brush itself feels like it’s well made and made out of nice material. The size is perfect, it’s nice to hold in your hands and the hairs are very soft and feel great on the skin.
I’ve also noticed that it doesn’t lose any hair during the cleaning of it which is great. And even after washing it a couple of times, the brush still feels just as soft and perfect as it felt when it was brand new!
Overall I’m quite a big fan of this IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush. I’ve been using it everyday since I got it and I really can’t stop using it anymore. Even though I’m not a huge fan of the concealer side, the buffing brush totally makes up for that. I highly recommend giving it a go if you’re on the hunt for a great foundation brush!
The IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection Brush is available at QVC for £34,-.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know what tool you love using to blend in your foundation!
XOXO, Nicole.
