Now that I have reviewed most of the IT Cosmetics products that I bought I feel like it’s about time to review this last product as well. It’s the famous IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Full Coverage Anti-Aging Waterproof Concealer. I have heard about a million things about this concealer and pretty much everything I heard about this product was positive. Since I have quite dark under eye circles I felt like this might just be a great product for me. So, if you’re curious to find out whether or not it actually ended up being amazing, make sure you continue reading!
First things first: the packaging. For some reason I expected the packaging to be like a silver version of the Too Faced Shadow Insurance packaging. I really have no idea why I would think that but I did. Somewhere, far, far away it does slightly look like that, but only when it comes to the shape and that’s it. Anyway, the tube is all black and has some silver detailing on it. Overall it’s very simple and to the point and I’m okay with that.
But let’s not waste too many words on packaging and immediately move on to the product itself. IT Cosmetics has made a ton of claims regarding this product. I feel like they’re a brand who claim a lot, and until now they have always proved themselves right.
This concealer claims to be anti-aging and skin-loving. It says that it has hydrolyzed collagen in it, peptides, hyaluronic acid and antioxidants. In my Hyaluronic Acid 5% + B5 review from The Ordinary I have discussed all of the amazing benefits of hyaluronic acid, so I’m not going to waste too much time on that, but overall I really like that it’s in there. The other ingredients are known to be great for the skin as well so it’s great that they included them in this product.
Aside from having great ingredients, IT Cosmetics also claims that this concealer is waterproof, that it has full coverage and that it should be able to cover anything. It also won’t crease and it’s clinically shown that this will make your skin look younger. All of those claims seem a little too good to be true, but from what I’ve experienced while testing the IT Cosmetics products is that it might actually be true.
The first thing I noticed about this product is that the texture is very unique. I heard lot’s of people say this but even though I knew, I still had that -I didn’t know it was going to be this thick- moment. And just like everyone else who used this product for the first time I used way, way, way too much the first time I tried it out. You only need a bit of product the size of a pin head. Because of the texture of the product it will seem like way too little, but once you start blending it in you will realise that the product is very blendable and it’s more than enough to cover your entire under eye area.
Coverage wise I’m impressed by this concealer. This is definitely one of the most full coverage concealers I own at this very moment and I like it. I also really like that it still looks natural, even though the texture is so thick and even though it has such high coverage.
When it comes to the creasing I have to say that it depends on what you use to apply it with and whether or not you set it with powder soon after applying it. If you apply it using a damp beautyblender and if you set it afterwards there is no such thing as creasing with this concealer. However, if you don’t set it, it wil crease like no other concealer has ever creased on you.
When it comes to staying power I’m positive. This definitely is a very long wearing concealer. It stays put all day and it doesn’t move even if it’s raining or if you’re crying. Whether or not it’s fully waterproof I’m not sure, but it does survive contact with a reasonable amount of water.
Overall I’m really glad I decided to give this concealer a try. It’s definitely something different compared to other concealers, but it works amazingly well for me. The coverage is incredible and if you apply it right, it won’t crease at all. I also really like how well in stays put and I like that it has lots of great ingredients in it. If you’re on the hunt for a full coverage concealer, you might want to give the Bye Bye Under Eye a try!
