Today it is time for another IT Cosmetics review. In case you missed it let’s quickly catch up. About a month ago (I believe) QVC had this today’s special value set from IT Cosmetics filled with the famous Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream, the Heavenly Luxe Complexion Perfection brush, the famous Bye Bye Undereye concealer and this Bye Bye Pores Pressed powder. I already reviewed the CC+ cream and the brush, so now it’s time for the powder. If you’re interested in finding out whether or not this powder made me fall in love with pressed powder and if this is any good at all, make sure you continue reading!
First things first: the packaging. The IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed powder comes in a rubberised black plastic compact. It’s quite chunky in my opinion and as far as design goes it’s pretty basic. I do like the look of it because it’s quite sleek and I really like the feel of rubberised plastic, however it does tend to get dirty pretty quickly.
When you open up the packaging you will find a relatively big mirror, the powder and underneath the powder is a little compartment which contains a little powder sponge puff thingy. I do have to say that I was quite confused the first time I opened this because the powder part went up and all I saw was the powder sponge puff thingy. Of course that’s not something to worry about, but I just thought it might be worth mentioning.
Onto the powder. The powder is white but has a slight yellow tone to it. As you can tell it’s pressed. I believe the original version of the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores powder is actually loose. They made this version so it would be easier for on the go. I have to say I wasn’t quite sure whether or not I was happy about that because I have been in love with loose powder for like 5 years now. I haven’t touched a pressed powder in ages.
However this powder has made me realise how amazing and easy pressed powders actually are. I can’t deny that loose powders aren’t more mattifying, but since my skin isn’t as oily as it used to be this is enough for me now.
Before I jump into any conclusions let’s first quickly look at what IT Cosmetics claims. On their website they say that this Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder will visibly blur the appearance of pores and imperfections. The powder is perfect for all skin tones and has a silky, skin-perfecting finish. It also claims to have some ingredients in it that will keep your skin youthful and airbrushed looking.
I do think IT Cosmetic claims quite a lot. If I’d think in a really down to earth way I’d say: why would you claim all of those things when you’re talking about a powder. It’s just a flippin’ powder. Why would you even want all of that in a powder?! However, nowadays we want and ask more and more of our makeup. Just powder just isn’t enough for some of us and that’s okay. I mean isn’t it great that you can use a powder that actually helps your skin to look better?!
But if it really does do that, I don’t know. What I do know is that this powder blurs the appearance of pores, I truly believe it does. This is actually the first time I truly believe a powder can do that. I don’t know how it does it, but it just does. It creates some sort of veil over your pores that just makes them disappear. It’s really impressive.
When it comes to actually mattifying the skin and keeping your makeup in place this powder does an amazing job too. I know it’s just powder and some people might not understand why you would splurge so much on one, but I truly think this is better than the more budget proof powders I own. The matte finish is just a little more natural, a lot less chalky and it’s also more long lasting.
The thing I like most about this powder is that it doesn’t look powdery. You can slap on as much of this product as you want, but you really won’t look powdery. It’s really great!
Overall I really think that this IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder is amazing. It actually blurs the appearance of pores, it mattifies the skin, it looks natural and it stays all day. It’s truly one of the best powders in the world and if you really don’t believe me just give it a try and see for yourself. I highly doubt you’re going to regret trying it! I love it!
The IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed is available at Sephora for $29,-.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which powder you use to set your makeup!
XOXO, Nicole.
Ik heb hier al zoveel goeie dingen over gelezen en deze review maakt me alleen nog hebberiger naar dit product! Alles wat mijn poriën minder zichtbaar maakt is een goeie, in my books 🙂
