Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel With Pump

28/01/2017

About three weeks (I believe) ago I bought a new daily moisturiser, the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel. I have heard a million and one things about this moisturiser and I’ve been wanting to buy it for so many years. Now I finally did it and I was overly excited to thoroughly test it and let you guys know if it’s actually worth its fame. If you’re curious in finding out whether or not it is and whether or not it’s a great moisturiser to use on a daily basis, make sure you continue reading!

The Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel comes in a few different sizes. I bought a fairly big size that comes with a pump. I really like the way the packaging looks. It contains a lot of product, 125 ml to be exact, and it’s just nicely shaped and coloured. I also really like the pump because it looks fancy but it also makes sure the ingredients stay fresh and active, which is an important factor as well.

There are two different versions of this moisturiser. You have the lotion which is aimed towards more dry/normal skin and there is this gel, which is aimed towards more combination to oily skin. I decided to go for the gel because my skin tends to be more on the combination to oily side so I figured this would be the best match for me.

On the back of the bottle Clinique gives us a little information about the product. They tell us which skin types this is for and that it’s allergy tested, dermatologist-developed and fragrance free. It also says that the following:

“Oil-free formula works to soften, smooth and improve the texture and condition of your skin. Contains skin-strengthening ingredients. Spread over face/throat twice daily all over, or where needed. For best results use after Facial Soap and Clarifying Lotion.”

So, that’s that. This moisturiser is part of the 3-step system by Clinique, but I have to say it works perfectly fine without step 1 and 2 from that system as well. I just apply this in the morning after I cleanse my face with some Bioderma and before I put on any makeup or primer and that works pretty much fine for me!

So, onto the quality of this product. Let’s just start off by telling you I flippin’ love it. I don’t know why I never decided to try this before because this literally is the best moisturiser I have ever touched. Back in the day my skin was way oilier than it is now and I really struggled with it. Nowadays it’s a little less horrible, but it can still be quite greasy from time to time.

This moisturising gel has a very nice texture which feels incredibly light-weight and really tackles that oil problem I had. It sinks in within seconds, it doesn’t leave an annoyingly feeling thick, heavy or greasy layer and it makes my skin look moisturised but not greasy or anything close to that. It’s basically the perfect product to use on your skin if you’re struggling with any sort of oiliness. With that being said I don’t think it’s a moisturiser you should use if you don’t have combination or oily skin because it definitely won’t feel moisturising enough in that case.

My most favourite thing about this moisturiser isn’t the amazing texture. I absolutely love that too, but there is something else that makes this even better. It’s the feel. I don’t know how to properly describe it, but this product feels like satin once applied to the skin. It’s pretty insane. It has that Dior-feel to it. That really soft and smooth feeling. It feels so incredibly nice and luxurious.

I also feel like this product made my skin better in general. After using this for one and a half week my skin started to feel a lot more smooth than it ever did before. It feels very soft and pretty much like the skin of a baby. It feels like it’s completely new and fresh and like your skin has never been exposed to anything harmful. I think that upping the quality of  my skin might be the best feature this moisturiser has. It really benefits the way my face looks and I love that.

Overall I think it’s no secret that I’m obsessed with this moisturiser. It just does something for me. It really changes the way my skin looks and feels and it actually reduces the oiliness. In my opinion this is definitely  (one of) the best moisturisers in this entire world and I’m pretty convinced it’s worth the hype. I highly recommend giving it a try if you’re struggling with combination to oily skin! You won’t regret it!

The Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel is available at Lookfantastic and Ici Paris XL for €54,50.

That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which moisturiser you prefer using on a daily basis!

XOXO, Nicole.
