Clinique Blemish Solutions Concealer

11/12/2017

A couple of months ago I had a really bad breakout and I was watching a Youtube video on how to cover up blemishes perfectly. I ended up watching a video in which they used the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Concealer to cover up their blemishes and it looked so incredible that I immediately decided to order a tube myself. I have been using this for a couple of months now in a lot of different circumstances so I do think I have a pretty good view on this product now, which is why I decided today would be the perfect day for me to review it. So, if you’re interested in finding out what this Clinique Clearing Concealer is like and whether or not it actually covers up blemishes as well as they claim, make sure you continue reading!

First things first: packaging. The Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Concealer comes in a blueish green tube like all products from their Anti-Blemish range. I do like that it has this distinct colour because this way it’s easy to find in my collection. Especially since I don’t have a lot of concealers with the same colour packaging. Aside from that I also really appreciate the size of the tube. It does come with 10 ml of product which is very decent for a concealer, but the tube itself is very small and compact which means it doesn’t take up any space at all in your collection, bag or makeup bag. Since I’m starting to lack space, this is a very important factor to me nowadays.

Before we go into detail about this concealer I first want to quickly talk about the Clinique Anti-Blemish range. As you probably already know, Clinique is quite a famous skincare brand and is famous for their 3-step range. Their Anti-Blemish range however is amazing as well. This range is created for problematic skin with, surprise surprise, a lot of blemishes. The Anti-Blemish range consists out of a couple of skincare products as well as some makeup products, including this concealer. This means that this isn’t just a concealer, it’s also a product that is going to fight the blemish and hopefully create a clearer complexion.

Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions Clearing Concealer – €22

Moving on to the actual product. The concealer is available in three shades, light, medium and dark, which isn’t a lot. It’s not a very wide and inclusive shade range especially since the darkest shade isn’t dark at all. However, the lightest shade is very light, light enough for my pale skin, so that’s a huge plus for me. Obviously I got shade 1, which is the lightest shade available. The other shades aren’t much darker, but I do think that they are dark enough for tinted skin tones.

Having discussed shades, let’s move on to claims. According to Clinique this is a healing concealer that helps to prevent and get rid of pimples. Its soft, calming formula is supposed to provide a natural coverage while it heals your blemishes. It’s also oil-free.

And that’s all for the claims. I have to say that I don’t think that they are claiming a lot of stuff, but I do think that they claim very unique things. Things that other concealers never really claim. And in addition to the claims, the lady from the video I watched also mentioned that this is a very longlasting concealer that isn’t going to move around because it will dry up matte.

But, is it true? Does this concealer really cover up as well as heal your blemished skin? In short I do think it’s an amazing concealer. First of all because the coverage is just absolutely incredible. It really covers up my blemishes really well with just the tiniest bit of product. It also looks very natural because it’s not a thick or heavy concealer. It is very weightless and feels very nice on the skin. I’m a really big fan of the way this looks on my skin. Because the shade is such a good match it also doesn’t look like there’s a patch of concealer on some parts of my face. It just looks really pretty and natural and it really covers up my blemishes very well.

Aside from that this concealer also does a great job at minimising the amount of pimples I have on my skin. At first I was a little skeptical about this future, but after using it for a couple of months I genuinely believe that this concealer heals your skin. Therefore I think this concealer is just incredible for everyone with acne-prone skin!

The staying power might be my favourite feature. Like the lady in the video mentioned this concealer will stay in place all day and she wasn’t lying about that. This concealer dries up matte which gives a very natural result but also makes sure that it will stay put all day. So if you do have an important day you want to look good for and you have a couple of spots, this concealer is everything you need!

Overall I’m a huge, huge fan of this concealer. The tiniest bit of product will go a very long way, the coverage is incredible it really covers up all of my pimples without looking cakey or unnatural in any shape or form and it also stays put all day. In addition to that it really helps clearing my skin so in general I think this is the most amazing concealer for blemished-skin ever. I highly recommend giving it a try!

With that being said it’s time to end today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which concealer you think is best to use for covering up your blemishes!
