Charlotte Tilbury Look In A Palette Flawless Face On The Go in Seductive Beauty

20/08/2017

I have to admit that it hasn’t been too long since I learnt about the brand Charlotte Tilbury, but from the day I knew about it until now I’ve always wanted to try some of her products. I’ve watched a ton of videos from her, with her and about her products and I’ve read a ton of reviews which all lead me to buying her amazing Look In A Palette Flawless Face On The Go palette. Today I’m going to review this gorgeous piece of makeup and if you’re interested in finding out whether this rather expensive palette is worth the price, make sure you continue reading!

Let’s start off with packaging. I ordered this palette from the official Charlotte Tilbury website and it came to my house pretty quickly. When I opened the box I found out a letter with the Charlotte Tilbury logo on it and underneath that I found a gorgeous Charlotte Tilbury wrap with a sticker on it. When I opened that up I finally came to the actual product, the palette. That palette came in a box that looks a lot like the actual palette, but with a bit more text on it.

The palette itself has this really pretty shiny brown colour with the gold Charlotte Tilbury logo in the middle. It feels rather heavy and sturdy and it’s not too big. However, I heard people say that it’s surprisingly small, but I do have to disagree with that. I don’t think it’s a particularly small palette. It’s not very big and bulky, but it’s not too small at all.

Overall I’m a really big fan of the packaging but also of the way it came inside the box. I liked the letter (even though it wasn’t a very special one, it was about returning policies I believe) and I like that it was wrapped inside CT paper. This made all of it feel very nice and luxurious and I like that about it.

Charlotte Tilbury Look In A Palette in Seductive Beauty – €69

On the back of the palette it shows what is inside. It shows that the top three pans are all eyeshadows. They’re all numbered and they even give you a suggestion on how to use it. They for example tell you that the first eyeshadow is for brightening, the second one for enhancing and the third one is meant for smoking up the look a little. Of course you don’t have to use the shadows like that because how you use them is totally up to you, but it’s nice they added in the suggestion. Especially for those who aren’t that familiar with working with eyeshadow.

The other four products are numbered as well. Number 4 is a bronzer, number 5 and 6 are both blushes. The one is slightly darker than the other. And number 7 is a highlight. All together this palette is filled with all powder products you need for a full face look, aside from setting powder. Isn’t that handy?!

The Charlotte Tilbury Look In A Palette comes in three different shades I believe. The one you see pretty much everywhere which is called Beauty Glow, a slightly more toned down version of that called Natural Beauty and the one I have which is a little more smokey and sultry and called Seductive Beauty. From the moment I saw these palettes I knew that if I would end up buying one of the three, I would go for Seductive Beauty. This one just spoke to me the most. Especially when it comes to eyeshadow. Those other two have really pretty eyeshadows as well, but if this palette is all that I’m bringing this is the only one out of the three that actually has everything in it for me to create a look I’d actually love to wear.

Like I said this palette is a little more on the smokey and sultry side compared to the other two which are rather natural. The thing that makes this palette nice and sultry are the eyeshadows, especially number 2 and 3. They’re definitely on the darker side and if you’re new to eyeshadow or if you like to keep everything nice and natural these could be way too dark for you, but for me these are perfect.

Having said that, let’s go over the shades. The first shade, eyeshadow 1, is a really pretty light champagne shimmery colour. It’s actually the ideal highlight shade and that’s exactly why I like it so much. This shadow will bring light to the eye and it will instantly brighten up any look you might create. All together I think it’s a stunning colour and the perfect colour for everyday wear.

The second eyeshadow, eyeshadow number 2, is meant to enhance the eye. With that they probably mean that this is more of a crease colour. For me, an eyeshadow fanatic, this is more of an all-over-the-lid kinda colour. This shade is actually one of the reasons why I wanted this palette so bad. It’s just the perfect cool-toned brown shade that is just light enough for all over the lid, but not too light. I absolutely love it.

Moving on to the last eyeshadow, eyeshadow number 3. This is the smokey shade, the deep, shimmery brown. I believe the other two palettes don’t even come near the darkness of this shade. I’m glad that it’s in here though because I do love me some smokey looks. This is, to me, the perfect crease colour. It’s perfect for really defining the eye and darkening it up a little. It’s absolutely, incredibly stunning. I love it a lot!

Moving on to the face powders. Let’s start off with the bronzer. Bronzers are always kind of difficult for me because I’m very pale. I was a little scared that it would either be too dark or too orangy for me, but I have to say that it’s okay. It’s definitely not the best match for me and if I go in a little too heavy handed it could end up looking a little on the orange side, but if I’m a little more careful I can easily pull it off.

Aside from bronzer we also get two blushes in the palette. The pans of the blushes are relatively small which makes it hard to pick up just one of the shades with a bigger blush brush.

The top blush, which is the lightest one is a bit of a pale peachy pink colour. It’s really pretty and natural and basically the perfect everyday blush colour. The other blush is a little darker and more on the pinky side rather than peachy. It’s also really pretty and I actually like to combine the two. I like to put the darker colour on the apples of the cheek and the lighter one on the rest of the cheek. Together they look absolutely stunning!

The last face powder in this palette is the highlighter. I feel like I really shouldn’t sugarcoat it and be 100% honest with you guys and tell you that I do think that the highlighter is a massive disappointed. I really wanted to tell you guys it’s gorgeous but it’s not. It’s pretty basic and not that shimmery at all. The lightest eyeshadow is more of a highlighter than the actual highlight is. If you do love a settle look it might be perfect for you, but for me it’s not a winner.

Quality wise the powders are all pretty amazing. I have to say that I do think that the quality of the shadows is a little better than the quality of the face powders, but overall you can tell that they’re high-quality products. The face powders can be a little dusty in the pan if you’re a little to rough with them, but that doesn’t affect the look of them on your face, so that’s nothing to worry about really.

Like I said I think that the quality of the shadows is a bit better than the quality of the face powders. That’s because the shadows are a little less powdery and a bit more on the creamy side. They’re very rich and they are pigmented like no other. If you touch them really lightly you already get a full load of pigment on your fingers. That’s really impressive. But a swatch doesn’t mean everything. On the eyes the quality can still be disappointing.

But luckily for me that’s not the case at all. Just like on the swatch the shadows are really nice and intense on the eyes. They show up really nicely and without having to put any effort into it at all. This palette isn’t just quick to work with because you have everything you need -powder wise- in one, but also because the quality is so amazing you don’t have to go over the same thing twice in order to make it look good.

The face powders look good on the skin too, all though I’m still not a fan of the highlight. Because it’s not really glowy it’s especially on camera hard to tell it’s even there. In real life you can see it, but it doesn’t even come close to my new Jouer highlight in Citrine or my beloved Dior highlighter.

To be a little more complete I decided to add in some swatches of the products as well, instead of a look only. As you can tell the products are pretty pigmented. They are rich and they show up really well. Especially the second eyeshadow looks really gorgeous pigment-wise but also colour-wise. I just think that’s the most gorgeous shade on earth and I love wearing it.

Overall I’m really glad I bought this palette. Not only because it’s Charlotte Tilbury and the whole order looked pretty magic and exciting, but also because of the quality. Sometimes when you buy such amazing and also rather expensive products that you’re really excited about it’s pretty difficult to stay focused and especially to stay objective. You can easily see things through pink glasses and just not see what’s wrong with it. But even if I’m objective I think this palette is worth the price. It’s an expensive one, but the quality (especially the quality of the eyeshadows) is just phenomenal. They look so good on the eyes, I could wear this look for weeks straight.

So, in conclusion I think this palette is a winner. Not just for makeup lovers like myself but also for those who don’t wear that much makeup but just want to have something quick for everyday. It’s a great palette for on the go or for day’s when you’re in a hurry because you have everything together and thanks to the quality you can work really quickly with it. I’m in love with it and I’m definitely going to get a lot of use out of it, and therefore I highly recommend checking it out (or a different shade) if you’re interested in a quick and easy palette like this as well!

Thank you guys so much for reading today’s (way too lengthy) review, and be sure to let me know what you think of this palette and what you think of the Charlotte Tilbury brand in general!
