I don’t remember why exactly, but for the longest time I was eyeing this Chanel Les Beiges bronzing powder. Usually I’m not that big on bronzers at all, but this product really caught my attention. After debating on whether or not to get it for about 5 minutes I ended up buying it and I’ve been using it a ton ever since. Because I’ve had it for quite a while already and because I’ve already mentioned it in my favourites post I felt like it was about time for me to review it. So that’s what I’m going to be doing today. If you’re interested in finding out everything there is to know about this gorgeous Chanel bronzer, make sure you continue reading!
First things first, packaging. The Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Colour comes in a gorgeous compact. The compact is quite bulky to be honest, but I do really like the look of it. The lid is white and has the Chanel logo printed in the middle in black. Aside from that there’s nothing going on on the packaging whatsoever, they kept it very simple. I really like that simplicity a lot. I think that the packaging looks absolutely gorgeous like this!
The compact comes in a little black sleeve. I don’t really know how to call it. Most luxurious products like this come in little sleeves like that so it’s not very new or something like that. However I do really like the look and feel of it. It adds a touch of luxury to the product. Another thing I really like about the packaging is that there’s a pretty big mirror on the inside which makes this a great product for on the go. It also comes with a little brush inside the compact so it’s also ideal to bring with you for touch ups!

Before we jump into the details of the powder, let’s first talk about the brush that comes with this product. When I first saw that there was a brush inside the compact I wasn’t too thrilled. Usually the brushes that come with products like this are pretty crappy so I just didn’t have that high hopes for this particular brush. But even though I thought it was going to be bad I did end up using it the first time I used this product and guess what. I absolutely love this brush! It’s just incredible.
One of the reasons why I like the brush so much is because the hairs are very, very soft. You can tell that the brush is made out of high-quality materials and I love that about it. Aside from that I think that the shape is just incredible for bronzing your face. It’s a very slim brush and it’s rounded which, combined, create the perfect shape for creating soft but straight lines on your face. Because of the fact that it’s so flat (or slim) you’ll be able to create precise lines with this and because of the fluffiness and the rounded shape those lines will be very soft and well blended without you even trying.
Having said that, let’s start talking about the product itself. The Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Colour comes in five different shades, one of which is exclusive to the Chanel site online. The shades range from light to deep and the shade I ended up buying is called medium. I decided to go for medium even though I have a very pale complexion because I did really want it to be a bronzer and I needed it to be dark enough for it to actually be able to bronze my face. In the end I’m really glad I decided to go for this shade because it is in fact a great bronzing shade for me. It’s not too light but it’s not too dark either. It’s absolutely perfect for me!
Moving on to the claims. According to Chanel their Les Beiges powder has a incredible creamy powder texture that’s supposed to create a subtle, naturally bronzed skin tone. The fine gold particles in the powder are supposed to lighten up the complexion.
Overall it sounds like it’s going to be a powder with an amazing, soft texture and a gorgeous natural effect on the skin. After reading the claims my hopes were set even higher.
To be honest this powder turned out to be even better than I expected. Like I said I did have pretty high hopes for this, especially since it’s a Chanel product and I do think that if you pay this amount of money for a product it should be flippin’ amazing, but also because of the claims. Luckily for me Chanel wasn’t lying when it comes to the claim part. This really is a gorgeously soft and natural powder and I love every little thing about it. It has quickly become my go-to bronzing powder and I really don’t want to go without it anymore. I know that sounds like an extreme exaggeration, but I am speaking the truth here. I really am. Pinky promise.
One of the main reasons why I like this product so much is because the texture is just incredible. It’s a very soft and creamy powder that feels amazing to the touch. But aside from feeling really nice on the skin I also think that it works really nice. Because it’s so soft it won’t create harsh lines on your face. Instead it looks very soft, diffused and natural on the skin. I can’t really describe in words what it is like, but I hope this piece of text does make some kind of sense to you.
Another big plus about the texture is that it’s really easy to work with. Like I said it applies in a very diffused way without creating harsh lines at all, but it also blends very easily. So if you do think you have applied a bit too much or if you think it’s not looking soft and diffused enough it won’t cost too much effort to make it look okay again.
Pigmentation wise I think this powder is one big hit. It has exactly the right amount of pigmentation. Not too much, not too little. You don’t have to build it up in order for it to show up at all, but you also don’t need to use a very light hand in order for it not to look too heavy. It’s just such an effortless and fool-proof product. I really love that about it. You can’t go wrong with this. Therefore I love using it on days where I’m really tired when it’s makeup-time because even if I’m half asleep while applying it, it will look amazing!
The staying power of this bronzing powder isn’t what I’d call extremely impressive, but it’s not disappointing either. It’s just not something that really stands out when it comes to this product. This product has a lot of amazing and outstanding features, but the staying power isn’t one of those outstanding things. And I’m not trying to say that it doesn’t stay in place at all, but it’s just not something that really stands out. It’s just a decent staying power, it stays in place throughout the day but it’s not impressive. I’m really struggling here how to not make this sound very negative because it really isn’t a negative thing.
Overall I’m just really loving this Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Luminous Colour. I think it’s an amazing product that really represents the Chanel luxury. I know it’s a lot of money to pay for a simple bronzer, but it really is worth it in my opinion. From the texture to the way this powder blends on the skin, it’s just incredible and I absolutely love using it! I’m really glad I decided to splurge on it!
That’s it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know what you think of this bronzer and also let me know which bronzer is your current favourite!
