Chanel Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Palette 14 Mystic Eyes

29/06/2019

It has already been a couple of months since all of this happened, but in a short amount of time I actually bought my two first Chanel Eyeshadow Palettes. The first one is called Tissé Rivoli and I loved it so much, I decided I wanted more. This resulted in the purchase of the Chanel Les 4 Ombres in the shade 14 Mystic Eyes. My second ever Chanel Eyeshadow Palette. I’ve been using it for a couple of months now and therefore today it’s right about time for me to review it. So, if you’re interested in finding out everything there is to know about this stunning Chanel eyeshadow palette, make sure you continue reading this post!

Like any other Chanel product you probably know, this eyeshadow palette comes in a stunning packaging. The box protecting the product is black and has a golden lining around the bottom. The text on this box is white and also super classy. When you take the product out of the box, you’ll notice that the actual compact is protected by a soft black sleeve. Inside of that is what you’ve been looking for all this time: the Chanel Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Palette. The palette is completely black and has a Chanel logo in white in the middle of the lid. It looks super clean and classic, just how I like my packagings.

The packaging is square shaped and relatively compact for a product like this. It doesn’t have too much excess packaging or anything like that. On the inside of the compact is a nice mirror that you can use to apply the product and a little sponge applicator no one ever uses. For a brand like Chanel I do think they could’ve at least includes brushes with normal hairs. But okay, let’s look past that.

Chanel Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Palette in 14 Mystic Eyes – €54

Like the name already suggests, the Chanel Les 4 Ombres compact comes with four shades of eyeshadow. A proper quad, you might say. I do have to admit that, with most of my looks, I use at least five different shades. But I do think the four shadows in this quad are properly selected in a way you can create a full blown eye-look with just these four shades. I definitely think that’s a really big plus about this palette. It has got a little bit of everything in here.

The four shades in the Mystic Eyes palette from Chanel are all four neutral and wearable for everyday. Yet they aren’t boring. I do think every one of the four shades has something to it that makes it unique.

According to Chanel these four eyeshadows have a baked powder texture and shades that are in harmony and timeless. They offer endless variations and contrasts. It’s a practical and portable black lacquered base with a large mirror. The Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow palette in 14 Mystic Eyes should leave you with luminous, long-lasting makeup in a single shade or blended, from the lightest to the most intense.

If we believe Chanel, these shadows are pretty darn good. And I have to say that I do like the fact that these shadows are baked. Back when I just got into the makeup scene, baked eyeshadows were all the rage. But these days you don’t see them that often anymore. I actually like them a lot because they are really pigmented but also nice and lightweight. And you can see that in the swatches. I know the picture is pretty crappy, literally every shade is out of focus, but you get the point right?!

I’m really impressed by how nice the darkest brown shade looks. It’s nice and intense and so it is on the eyes. My favourite shade from the palette is definitely the shimmery beige, which is the third colour in this picture. It doesn’t look that interesting on the swatch because the shade is quite close to my natural skintone, but guys, it’s amazing. It’s really pretty and it highlights the eyes. It instantly makes you look more awake.

When it comes to quality -aside from pigmentation- I do think that these four shades are amazing. They are in fact really easy to use. The colour pay-off is great so you don’t have to spend too much time on that. And I’m also impressed by how easy these shades are when it comes to blending. They are so easy to blend!

All in all I really think that the Chanel Les 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Palette in 14 Mystic Eyes is absolutely incredible. I know lots of people give Chanel crap for their eyeshadow palettes, but I really don’t get why. They are amazing okay. I love the shades in this palette and I actually think that the quality of the shadows is amazing. They are pigmented and easy to work with and they also work really well together. I’m a big, big fan!

And that concludes today’s post. Thank you guys so much for reading it, and be sure to let me know what you think of this Chanel eyeshadow quad. Do you love it as much as I do?!
