Today it’s time for another skincare review. A very exciting skincare review actually. At least, it is in my opinion. Today I’m going to tell you guys all about the amazing Caudalie Vinosource Moisturising Mattifying Fluid. This is one of Caudalie’s most famous moisturisers and therefore I was really excited to give it a try. Today I’m going to be reviewing it and telling you everything I know about it. If you’re interested in that, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off with packaging. The packaging of this product is nothing else than gorgeous. I can’t say anything about it but that. I mean isn’t it stunning. The pink is just perfect and the white details really are the cherry on top. Well that’s a little extreme but you know what I mean right. It just looks really pretty and I love having it in my skincare collection!
The shape of the packaging is something I like about it as well. It actually reminds me, shape wise, a bit of the La Roche-Posay Effaclar moisturiser. And I really like the packaging of that too. I just think it looks girly yet professional and that’s a really good look to have as a moisturiser.
Caudalie Vinosource Moisturising Mattifying Fluid – €27,95
Moving on to the actual product. According to the tube this moisturiser, or fluid as they call it, is ideal for combination skin. It’s free of parabens, mineral oils, SLS and animal based ingredients. In other words: it’s free of anything you don’t want to be in there (except for alcohol/perfume). Aside from that I’m not that good at reading ingredient lists so I’m not sure about whether it’s a great product ingredient-wise, but at least we know it doesn’t have a ton of bad things in it.
Before I jump into the quality of the product, I first want to mention that the scent of it is incredible. Literally incredible. This moisturiser smells so nice and fresh. It’s definitely the perfect scent to wake up to and I do think that’s a big plus. I know that you shouldn’t want your moisturiser to have perfume in it, but I secretly do really enjoy it.
Moving on to the quality. I actually thought this was the full size of the mini one I got in that little gift set, but it’s actually a different version. Where that was a sorbet cream, this is a mattifying fluid. That might not make any sense at all, which I understand, but it basically means that the sorbet is more lightweight and full of air and this is more liquidy like an actual moisturiser. I personally do really like it, but that’s just personal preference.
Even though it does feel a bit heavier than the sorbet version, it’s still a very lightweight moisturiser. Unlike most mattifying skincare products this isn’t one of those gel-creams, but I do like that about it. It feels pretty hydrating without feeling way too hydrating.
Because of the lightweight formula, the moisturiser sinks in to the skin pretty quickly without leaving a greasy layer behind. It’s also a bit cooling and quite refreshing on the skin which I do appreciate. Overall I think it’s a perfect moisturiser for anyone with combination or oily skin. It could also work for normal skin, but if you are more on the dry side you might want to stay away from this.
When it comes to improving the quality of my skin I honestly am not sure. I mean, my skin hasn’t broken out thanks to this product, but I also don’t feel like it has worked wonders for clearing up my skin from the break out that was already there. But even though it doesn’t do wonders on that part, I do feel like it does wonders on the mattifying part. This actually is one of the only moisturisers that actually does a pretty decent job at mattifying the skin and keeping it matte throughout the day and I really like it for that.
All together I can really appreciate this moisturiser and I have been using it a ton. It has a really nice and unique texture, it sinks into the skin really quickly, it’s not heavy but it does hydrate well enough and it really helps mattifying my skin and keeping it matte throughout the day which I think is absolutely wonderful. So if you’re on the hunt for something that will keep you matte all day, this might be something you want to try out. If you’re looking for some skin clearing miracle, this might not be the product for you!
And that pretty much concludes today’s post. Thank you so much for reading today’s review and be sure to let me know which moisturiser is your absolute favourite!
