Lately buying second-hand clothes have been an up and coming trend. Apps like Depop, United Wardrobe and Vinted are popping up everywhere and I really like the trend. It allows you to sell your clothes and make some money, but it also allows you to buy really nice pieces of clothing and be good for the environment. Because I’m such a big fan of it I decided to write a post all about the benefits of buying and selling second-hand clothes! If you’re interested in reading about that, make sure you continue reading!
Selling your clothes
One thing I like about this trend is that it allows you to sell your clothes. Obviously you have always been able to do this if you wanted to, but these apps do make it easier and quicker to do so. That because there is such a big platform filled with people who are on the hunt for stunning pieces of clothing that you might have hanging around in your closet.
Aside from making a little money off of it, it’s also great for the environment. Instead of all going to the store and buying new pieces of clothing, an already existing piece can have a new life. I think that’s a great thing and that’s one of the reasons why I’m such a big fan of this trend.
Unique pieces
Another thing I like about these apps is that they are filled with gorgeous pieces of clothing. Some might be from brands you already know, but some are also very unique. From brands you have never heard of or designs you have never seen anywhere else. It allows you to wear something different and I like that.
Brands
Another thing I like about buying clothes from apps like this is that you can buy clothes from brands and stores that might not be available in your area. For example I really like clothing from Brandy Melville, but there are no Brandy Melville stores anywhere near me and there’s no online shop that ships to me. Through these apps I have managed to gather quite a lot of pieces from Brandy Melville and I really like that. I can still get the clothes that aren’t usually available to me and that kinda makes me happy.
Saving money
Aside from making money through selling your clothes on these apps you can also save money through buying. Technically you still spend money, but you pay less than you would have done if you bought the piece of clothing at the actual store. And who doesn’t like that?!
Overall I’m just a big fan of this trend. I don’t know how long it’s going to last, but for as long as it does I’ll enjoy it. I like being able to buy pieces from brands that are usually unavailable to me and I like that I can do something good for the environment.
And that’s pretty much it for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading about this topic and be sure to let me know what you think of this trend!
XOXO, Nicole.
