Brand Focus: Urban Decay

24/02/2016

Brand Focus Urban Decay

When it comes to high end makeup Urban Decay is definitely one of my favourite brands in the whole wide world. I think their eyeshadows are just absolutely incredible and basically one of the best ones out there. Because I love Urban Decay so much I decided to do a brand focus on them today in which I show you my Urban Decay collection and I’ll discuss which Urban Decay products I’d love to add to my collection. If you’re interested in reading about those things, make sure you keep on reading!

UD Mono's Suspect & Buck

The first two Urban Decay products I’ve ever bought are these two single eyeshadows. I bought them when Sephora was leaving the Netherlands with 40% sale. I was only like 14 years old and didn’t have job, so buying these two relatively expensive eyeshadows was quite a big deal at the time.

The one on the left is called Suspect, it’s a shimmery brown colour that I love using as a crease colour. The other colour is called Buck. Buck is like my favourite eyeshadow in the world. It’s literally the most perfect transition colour ever and I use it almost every single day! It’s amazing.

Urban Decay Naked Palette

UD Naked Palette

A while later my mom got me the Urban Decay Naked (1) palette for my birthday. I had it on my wishlist for ages but since I didn’t ear much with my job at the time, I just couldn’t really afford it. I was so excited about it and I was deeply in love with this palette. Ever since I got it I used it nearly every single day.

Nowadays the Naked 1 palette is still one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes. I use it to create my go-to eyeshadow look and I still think the quality of it is absolutely incredible. It’s a great first high end eyeshadow palette, but it does lead to wanting to buy more!

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

UD Naked 2 Palette

Not too long after getting the Naked 1 palette I bought myself the Naked 2 palette. I really liked the colours in it and since the quality of the shadows in the Naked 1 palette is so incredible, I just really needed to have this one as well. I have to say I was a little disappointed at first. All the looks I created using this turned out ugly.

However, after not using it for quite a while and then starting to use it again, everything changed. I created a look with it that turned out to look amazing and I fell in love with this palette all over again. I really love using it nowadays!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

UD Naked 3 Palette

Then the Naked 3 palette was launched. At first I was sure I didn’t want to have it. I didn’t like pinks and this palette just didn’t look good to me. But after a while I ended up ordering it anyways, and it ended up being my favourite Naked palette out of the three for a while.

I have to say that I haven’t used this one in a while, but I still think that the colours in this palette are absolutely stunning. I think the quality is just as incredible as always and I think colours like these are perfect for creating an everyday look.

Urban Decay Naked On The Run

UD Naked On The Run

After buying the Naked 3 palette I didn’t buy any Urban Decay palettes for about 2 years. After 2 years Urban Decay was easily available in the Netherlands again and I decided to celebrate that by buying myself a new Urban Decay palette. This one ended up being the Urban Decay Naked On The Run Palette.

The thing I love about it is that you get pretty much 50%, if not more, of your entire full face makeup look in one palette. It’s so convenient and perfect for travelling.

Because of this palette I also fell in love with the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencils, which I will talk about in a minute, and the Urban Decay Perversion Mascara. Those products are just so incredible.

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Palette

UD Gwen Stefani Palette

Then something amazing happened, Urban Decay launched their Gwen Stefani palette. I stayed up to midnight so I could order it because I was convinced it would be sold out in the morning (which it probably wasn’t) and I was so extremely happy about it. Out of all of my Urban Decay palettes, this one is by far my favourite. It’s just such an incredible palette including incredible colours with incredible pigmentation.

This palette is one I use quite often when I don’t feel like doing all kinds of creative things with my eyeshadow. I just grab this and pop a few colours on my lids and I’m good to go. It’s really incredible!

UD 24 7 Glide On Eye Pencils

Lastly I have the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils. I fell in love with these through the Naked On The Run palette and I have used them ever since. These pencils are literally the best things in the world. They are creamy, smooth, easy to work with and best of all, they stay in place and don’t smudge. I really like these!

Whoops that wasn’t the last thing. I totally forgot to mention my beloved Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray, which is in my opinion the best stuff in the world. I literally can’t live without it anymore!

That was it for the collection part of this brand focus article, onto the wishlist part.

UD Wishlist

The first thing on my wishlist is the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin. Sin is my absolute favourite eyeshadow colour by Urban Decay and having it in eyeshadow primer form seems like heaven to me. I’d love to give this a try!

Next up is the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Blush Palette. I really love the Gwen Stefani collection because I think all of the products look absolutely fabulous and the quality is so impressive. I’m not much of a blush person and I don’t own a crazy amount of blush, so I’d love to give that palette a try.

Then we have the Urban Decay Naked Smokey palette. I’m not much of a smokey eye girl, but I do think it’s great to have colours like that in your collection as a makeup lover and collector. Aside from that I do really like the neutral colours that come in there and since I absolutely love the Naked palette range I just really want to have it.

Lastly I have two lipsticks on my wishlist. One from the Gwen Stefani range in the shade Ex-Girlfriend and one from the Revolution lipstick range in the shade Native. Both of them are absolutely stunning and the texture seems just so incredible to me.

And that was it. That was today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and I hope you like this brand focus concept. Let me know what you think of it and how you like Urban Decay!

XOXO, Nicole.
