Brand Focus: Bobbi Brown

13/12/2018

Today it’s time for another brand focus post! Recently I’ve been loving doing these brand focus posts since they somehow make me more aware of the amazing products that I own. It makes me rediscover things and appreciate products more that I might have forgotten about. Today’s brand focus is all about Bobbi Brown. Bobbi Brown has been a big favourite of mine for a long time now, even though I don’t have a massive stash from them. In today’s post I’m going to talk about all my favourite’s and hate-it’s from Bobbi Brown. If you’re interested in reading about all that, make sure you continue reading this post!

Normally I start these posts off with talking about my collection, but since I’m going to discuss pretty much my entire collection in the favourites and hate-it’s part I’m just going to jump in. I have to say that there isn’t really anything from Bobbi Brown that I’d say I hate. I do have a couple of things that I don’t think are necessarily very special. Or things that I wouldn’t really splurge on. The first thing is the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze. I got this a long time ago because it’s such a popular and hyped product. And at first I really did like it. However, I just don’t use it and I know exactly why. The reason why I never gravitate towards it is that I just have no clue how to actually use this product. Where do I put it? Maybe if I’d gotten a different shade this wouldn’t have been such a big thing. But as for now, I’m not crazy about the Shimmer Bricks.

The next item I’m not head over heels with is the Bobbi Brown Blush Powder in Rose. This is one of those products that is fine. The quality of it is nice. However, it just isn’t a mind-blowing product. Don’t get me wrong, I love the shade of this blush and I love the quality of it. But it’s not something I go crazy about. It might just be because the packaging is so simple, but well. I don’t use it an awful lot. Whenever I do use it I definitely like it, but I wish it would be more wow-ing.

Moving on to my favourite Bobbi Brown product type: foundation. I believe the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation was the first Bobbi Brown product I ever bought. It made me fall in love with the brand. And as you can tell, I’ve actually repurchased it once. This foundation is just amazing. It comes in a wide shade range that includes a shade that matches me. To my surprise I’m not the lightest shade in their range, I’m actually the second lightest one. But what I love about this foundation is the texture. It has a very rich and creamy texture that feels super comfortable on the skin.

Because I was such a big fan of that foundation, I also tried the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation a while ago. This turned out to be even more amazing than the last. It’s super liquidy and therefore it’s very natural looking on the skin. It’s super lightweight but it does have decent coverage. It really does even out my skin tone quite a bit. I also love how smooth it makes my skin look, like I’m a model.

If there’s just one thing I’d recommend trying from Bobbi Brown it is their foundation. I don’t know how they do it, but somehow all of their foundations are just amazing. I’d love to try out their newest one, I believe it’s called the Long-Wear Weightless Foundation. And their tinted moisturiser also sounds very appealing to me!

Moving on to another favourite product category from Bobbi Brown. This is something I only discovered a couple of months ago. I’m talking about their brushes. Their incredible brushes. The first brush I bought is the Bobbi Brown Face Blender. This is an amazing multi-tasker blush. I’ve been using this for literally everything the past couple of weeks. You can use it to powder, to contour, bronze, blush you name it. It’s super soft, the hairs are shaped perfectly and all in all it just does everything you want it to. I’m in love with this brush!

Shortly after falling in love with the Face Blender I also bought the Bobbi Brown Powder Brush. This is by far the most expensive brush I’ve ever bought but it is so super worth it. I just love it to pieces. It has a very perfect shape, a shape I don’t see a lot in this type of brush. And it also has super soft and flexible hairs. It does so well at applying my powder. I can definitely recommend it!

All in all I just think that their brushes are master pieces. I’d love to collect more and more of them over time. Of course they are expensive so I can’t buy them all in a very short time. But throughout the upcoming years I’d love to collect most of their brushes.

The last item I want to talk about is this Bobbi Brown On Trend Eyes & Cheek Palette. Especially the eyeshadow part of this palette is really interesting to me. I’m in love with these shades, but even more with the quality of them. They are super rich and pigmented and a dream to work with. Literally every time I wear this palette I get complimented on my eye look. Mainly by my boyfriend who doesn’t realise it’s the same exact thing literally every time, but well, that’s cute as well right?

Obviously there are a couple of other things from Bobbi Brown that are nice. I have tried a Bobbi Brown Brightening Brick which I loved and their lipsticks are pretty okay as well. However, I didn’t think those were the ones that stood out to me the most. The lipsticks are great and have an amazing formula, but they don’t beat my favourite Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks or the YSL Rouge Volupte. The Brightening Brick is amazing, but it’s kind of the same story as the blush. I forget about it from time to time.

Anyway, I think that’s it for today’s brand focus. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and be sure to let me know about your experience with Bobbi Brown and your favourites!
