A while ago I purchased my first Bourjois Shine Edition lipstick. I fell in love with it from the very beginning and it didn’t take long until I decided I wanted another one. I’m a huge fan of sheer lipsticks, so this range is right up my alley. In London I finally bought my second one, this time in a more neutral but still unique color called Rose xoxo. Today it’s time for me to review it. If you’re interested in finding out whether I like this one as much as the other one I own, keep on reading!
The Bourjois Shine Edition lipsticks comes in a very pretty silver packaging. The color of details depends on the color you buy. The one I have has blue details, which I think looks really pretty. On the bottom of the tube it shows you which color you have. This is something I really like because you don’t have to open it up entirely to find out which color it is. Besides that I feel like it adds a little bit of luxury to the overall look of the packaging.
The color I have is called Rose xoxo. Rose xoxo is a very pretty slightly berry-ish rosy color. It’s pretty unique and really pretty. Because it’s from the Shine Edition collection it’s not an extremely opaque color, which makes it the perfect everyday lip color for fall and winter, even for those who don’t like wearing bright or dark shades. I love that a lot about it!
Another reason why I really like this lipstick is because it feels amazing on the lips. It’s pretty moisturizing and very lightweight. It’s a very comfortable lipstick to wear. Besides that it doesn’t accentuate the dry patches on my lips, which I appreciate a lot since those aren’t too pretty but it is a thing I struggle with a lot.
Even though it is a sheer and shiny lipstick, the pigmentation is still pretty amazing. It’s not a full coverage color with a super matte finish, but you can still tell that the color you’re wearing isn’t your natural lip color. The shiny finish is also really pretty. It’s not shiny in a way it looks like you’ve been packing on clear lipgloss for the past few hours, it’s more like a healthy glossy finish.
The lasting power is also not disappointing. Most sheer lipgloss aren’t too long lasting, but this one kind of stains your lips. Not like a real lipstain, but in a way that after most of the color is gone, your lips are still kind of tinted. I really like that about it.
Over all I think it’s clear I like this lipstick a lot. There’s honestly not even one little thing about it I don’t like. Lipsticks like this are just right up my alley. I like the way it looks a lot and I absolutely love this color. I have already worn it quite a lot and I’m pretty sure I’ll continue doing so for a very long time. It’s absolutely amazing and I therefore highly recommend it to anyone who loves sheer lipsticks like I do or for those who want to give them a try for once!
The Bourjois Shine Edition Lipstick is available at the drugstore for €12,99/£7,99.
