One of the three actual makeup products I bought in Lille is the renewed Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer. As some of you might know I’m a huge fan of this Healthy Mix range, so buying this new concealer was just something I had to do. Because I was so excited about it I immediately decided to give it a try and after testing it thoroughly I feel like it’s about time for me to review it! So, if you’re interested in finding out what it is like, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off by discussing the packaging. The old Bourjois Healthy Mix concealers came in tubes, whereas this one comes in a nice little plastic bottle. It has a rectangular shape and it’s quite short. It looks almost identical to the Diorskin Star concealer I like, which is why I thought this might just be a dupe for that.
The bottle is clear and has red details. It comes with a doe foot applicator and it just looks very elegant. I really like this renewed packaging and I think it works way better than the old one did.

The concealer comes in three different shades: light, medium and dark. I do think it’s a shame it only comes in three shades since I think this will make it hard for everyone to find the right shade. Bourjois is a brand that creates foundations and concealers with quite yellow undertones, so if you’re on the cooler side, they probably don’t have what you’re looking for.
Since I’m rather pale I decided to go for the lightest shade called Clair. This shade is definitely not the perfect colour me, it’s actually a tad too dark and a bit too yellow, but I wanted to try it anyway and hope I can make it work.
Having said that, let’s move on to the claims Bourjois makes regarding this concealer. According to Bourjois this concealer helps to hide fatigue and make your complexion look healthy and fresh again. It’s supposed to be a formula with a lightweight formula that hides your dark circles in a natural way.
From that I can understand that this concealer is aimed at hiding your dark circles and not at hiding imperfections all over your face. Of course you can use concealer wherever you want to, that’s totally up to you, but if you do want to use this on imperfections you don’t have to expect that it will fully cover them up because it won’t be able to do that. That’s one sure thing.
However, when it comes to concealer the under eye area this concealer is pretty great. It’s definitely a very light and radiant concealer which is what I would want my under eye concealer to be like. The concealer has a really thin and almost invisible texture. It doesn’t feel heavy on the skin at all and it blends in seamlessly.
The coverage of this concealer is medium. It’s definitely not light but it’s not full either. You can build it up, but since it’s not a perfect colour match for me building it up probably only makes it look worse. If the colour does match your skintone perfectly, building up the coverage is definitely something you can try!
Moving on to the finish of the concealer. The concealer is very lightweight and smooth and therefore it really reminds me of the Dior concealer. I do really think that’s a dupe for it! Anyway, when it dries down it doesn’t look shiny at all, but it does look healthy. It doesn’t get dry in a way it will get into your fine lines and make you look a lot older than you really are, but it’s not like your under eye area will look greasy. It’s just a very natural finish.
The staying power of this concealer is pretty much perfect. I always thought I’d want my concealer to be bullet-proof, but after I tried the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye concealer which really is bullet proof, I’d rather go for something that does stay in place nicely, but that does fade slightly throughout the day along with your foundation. That may not sound very positive, but trust me you don’t want to walk around with a flawlessly covered under eye area and hardly any foundation on the rest of your face, that just looks weird!
Having discussed all of that, let’s quickly go back to discussing whether or not this is a dupe for the Diorskin Star concealer. In my opinion it’s a pretty good budget alternative to that. The packaging is very similar, but also the texture of the concealer reminds me of the Dior concealer. The coverage is pretty much identical and so is the finish. The Dior concealer is a bit better, but this Bourjois one does come very close!
And that pretty much concludes today’s post. The Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer is definitely a winner for me, but I do dislike the fact that they only have three shades available that are anything but versatile. However, if you do find a shade that matches you really well, I think this could definitely be a potential favourite!
Thank you so much for reading today’s post and be sure to let me know which concealer is your current favourite!
XOXO, Nicole.
Zo jammer dat ze zo weinig kleuren hebben. Wil wel gaan kijken of ik een kleur kan vinden die bij me past, want deze concealer klinkt eigenlijk wel goed :0
