Not too long ago I decided I wanted to try one of the The Body Shop moisturisers. I’m a huge fan of the TBS products but I never tried one of their moisturisers, and I decided it was about time. Even though I would usually go for something with tea tree or sea weed, I decided to go for this (I believe) pretty new product, the Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet. If you’re interested in finding out more about it, make sure you keep on reading!
The TBS Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet comes in a really pretty and fancy looking glass jar. The glass has a matte finish which I think is absolutely stunning and it has a white lid. The label on the jar is white and pink, which matches really well with the rest of the packaging and the product.
Back in the day I would never have bought a product from this range. I though all products from the Vitamin E range were very moisturising and since I have oily skin that’s not what I’m looking for. When I saw this wasn’t just a moisturiser but a sorbet I was interested enough to buy it and give it a try.
According to The Body Shop this is a refreshing and mattifying facial moisturiser. It drenches the skin with moisture for all day hydration. It has a gel-like velvety texture and it’s perfect for all skin types all year round.
That sounds like the perfect moisturiser to me! But is it? Well, from what I experiences until now it basically is. The moisturiser first of all smells really nice and it has a really nice and cooling effect on the skin. That cooling effect is especially nice during the hot summer days but also when you’re really tired and you need something to instantly wake you up.
The moisturiser has, like it says, a gel-like texture. It’s a very great texture. It’s a gel, but it’s not a very thick gel. When you blend it into your skin you’ll find out you only need the tiniest bit to cover your entire complexion. Because you only need a little bit of it this product will last you like forever. I’ve used this for quite a while now and it still looks like I’ve never even touched it. How great is that?!
Like they claim it’s also a very soft and velvety moisturiser. It feels absolutely amazing on the skin, it’s indescribable. It does have some sort of texture in it, at least it looks like it does, but you can’t feel that once you put it on your skin. It’s just really, really nice!
But the most important thing: what does it do for my skin? Well, exactly what it needs to do. Like I said I have oily (to combination) skin. I do need moisture, like everyone does, but not too much. I also need something mattifying so I don’t get super shiny throughout the day. This moisturiser does all that.
It sinks into the skin really quickly and makes your skin feel hydrated but not greasy or oily. It doesn’t leave a greasy layer on top of your skin or anything like that. What it does do is create a nice semi-matte finish on your skin. It’s not ‘is she even alive’ matte, but it’s matte.
Overall I’m pretty much obsessed with this moisturiser. I’m so glad I decided to give it a shot. It’s one of the best moisturisers I have tried so far and I’m really glad I did, it’s absolutely amazing! I highly recommend giving it a try.
The The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet is available online and in stores for €20,-.
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know if you have any experience with the TBS moisturisers!
XOXO, Nicole.
