The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream

24/04/2016

TBS Tea Tree BB Cream Tube

For years I’ve been a big fan of the The Body Shop Tea Tree Serum, and now I decided it was time to give their BB cream a try. I haven’t tried a lot of BB creams in the past, but I’ve always wanted to have a very good one. Because I love the TBS products so much, this one seemed like a good option for me. If you’re interested in finding out how I ended up liking it, make sure you keep on reading!

TBS Tea Tree BB Cream

Let’s start off with discussing the packaging. The The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream comes in this small green tube with a skin coloured lid. Overall I’m not a huge fan of the design of the packaging, but I do like the shape. For some reason I do really like it when foundations, or in this case BB cream, come in tubes.

The The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream contains 40 ml of product, which is quite a lot, and comes in three different shade. A very pale one, a medium colour and a darker colour. I do think that TBS has to work on their colour selection, since three shades just isn’t enough, but I’m glad that the lightest shade is pretty pale.

TBS Tea Tree BB Cream Packaging

I couldn’t find a lot about this BB cream when it comes to claims, so I can’t discuss those today. What I can tell you is how I like this BB cream. Let’s start off with coverage. I don’t think that this BB cream has lots of coverage. In my opinion is light to medium. It is buildable, but it will never become a full coverage product. On one hand that isn’t a problem, BB creams aren’t supposed to be full coverage, but I do wish it had a little bit more coverage to it.

When it comes to the finish I have mixed feeling. It’s a semi-matte product, which makes it perfect for my oily skin. But I’m not a big fan of the way it looks on my skin. I think that if it would have a little more shine or dewiness to it, it would be a lot prettier.

Before

After

It’s not something I normally do, but today I decided to not only talk about the way it looks on the skin, I also took a before and after picture. As you can tell it does cover a little bit; the imperfections on my left cheek are way less visible, but it’s not capable of covering my super dark under eye area.

TBS Tea Tree BB Cream Texture

The texture of this BB cream is really nice. It’s not thick but also not super thin. The thing I like about it is that a little bit goes a long way. The amount on my finger is pretty much all you need to cover your entire face. I do have quite a small face to you might need a little more if your face is a little bigger, but you get the point.

The thing I don’t like about the texture or the BB cream in general is that it doesn’t apply really nicely. If you forget to blend a small area it will get a bit orangy and in general I think it looks quite blotchy and uneven, even when you apply it using a Beautyblender. I really don’t like that about it.

Tube

In general I have mixed feelings about this BB cream. I like the texture and I like the fact that the colour is so light. I also like the fact that it’s both a foundation and a skincare product, but I just don’t like the way it applies to the skin and how minimal the coverage is. If you’re looking for something with minimal coverage and skincare benefits, this is a product you’ll like, but if you’re looking for something with a little more coverage, you might want to skip this one.

The The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream is available in the TBS stores and online for €9,-.

That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and let me know which BB cream is your favourite!

XOXO, Nicole.
