I don’t really know why but I’ve always been very interested in trying out some products from the Seaweed range by The Body Shop, especially the moisturiser. It seemed like the perfect product for my skin type and since it’s from TBS you know it’s probably going to be good. After years of wanting it I finally bought it and after some serious testing it’s time to review it. If you’re interested in finding out whether or not this moisturiser was worth the wait, make sure you continue reading!
The TBS Seaweed Gel Cream has recently gotten a new packaging. The old packaging was pretty basic and lame but this one is absolutely stunning. It’s made out of blue and black plastic and has a white with blue label wrapped around it. It’s very clean, simple and professional looking like all new TBS packagings and I love it!
This jar contains 50 ml of moisturiser and I think that’s more than enough (well technically speaking you can’t really have more than enough moisturiser in such a small jar, but you get the point).
Like it says on the packaging this moisturiser is aimed at combo to oily skin. It’s gel based and therefore perfect for those who tend to get oily. It’s very quick absorbent and it keeps you from getting shiny throughout the day. That sounds like the perfect moisturiser to me, but you can never be sure about that unless you’ve tried it!
For me this moisturiser does more than I even expected it to do. Because I’ve been wanting to buy if for so long I was expecting a lot of it, I always felt like this was going to be the best product ever for my skin. It turns out that it’s even more than that. And I’ll now tell you why.
Let’s first of all just adore the fact that this gel-based moisturiser is just so nice to use on the skin. It’s super blendable so you only need a tiny bit of it to cover your entire face, it’s light weight and it sinks into the skin within a minute. That’s great for those day’s you’re in a rush but it’s also great for those day’s you’re not.
Second of all I love the fact that it makes my skin look matte, but not dull. It doesn’t take away the healthy glow that everyone (supposedly) has going on and I like that. If you apply this you’re not going to be shiny at all, don’t get me wrong, you just won’t lose that healthy glow.
Onto the most amazing part about this moisturiser: it makes your skin feel so smooth and soft. It’s difficult to describe but after applying this your skin will feel softer than your legs will after you’ve freshly shaved them. It’s incredible. It doesn’t state anywhere that it’s supposed to do that but it does and that’s why I love this moisturiser so much.
When it comes to actually mosturising the skin I think this product works just fine. It’s not too thick and heavy but it does give you the moisture you need. And yes, even if you have combination or oily skin you do need moisture!
Well I think it’s pretty clear that I love this moisturiser. It’s just one of the best ones I’ve tried in years and I’m so glad I finally have it. I really like the packaging, it smells good, it sinks in into the skin quickly and it makes my skin feel soft as a baby. I love, love, love, love it!
The TBS Seaweed Oil-Control Gel Cream is available in stores and online for €18,-.
That was it for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which moisturiser you currently use!
