This Christmas The Body Shop came out with their annual Christmas collection again. But this time it was a little different. Pretty much the entire collection was similar, from the colours to the main scent. The only thing that had changed was the name. Because I wasn’t sure whether or not that meant that it smelled a little different I decided to buy one and give it a try! Today I’m going to review it and let you know what’s different between this years Frosted Berries and last years Frosted Cranberries. If you’re curious to find out, make sure you continue reading!
This shower gel comes in the same packaging as all The Body Shop shower gels do right now. They changed it about half a year or a year ago and I’m a big fan. It looks natural, cute and professional. I love having it in my collection. The only thing that makes this shower gel stand out amongst the other TBS shower gels I own is that this one has a little more festive ‘label’ thingy. I like that!
The shower gel contains 250 ml and that’s a reasonable amount for a shower gel. It’s not the cheapest one available, but for me it’s worth it. And by the way TBS always has some kind of sale going on so if you don’t want to pay the full price, look out for that!
This year the scent is called Frosted Berries and that means it smells like berries. The berry on the logo still looks quite a lot like a cranberry in my book, but it’s not just that you smell. It’s just a combination of all slightly warm-scented red berries combined. It’s a very fresh yet warm scent that represents Christmas really well. I’m terrible at describing scents so this probably won’t make any sense to any of you at all, but it’s the best I can do.
When it comes to the strength of the scent I’m actually quite happy. I personally don’t like too strong smelling shower gels because shower gel isn’t the product I want to smell like for the rest of the day. If I want to smell good I want that to be because of my perfume, not my shower gel. However, I do appreciate it when my shower gel smells nice because it just makes showering a more enjoyable thing. This one has just the right amount of scent to it and that’s a great thing.
So, let’s start comparing it to the old Frosted Cranberry holiday scent by TBS. Packaging wise the main difference is that they changed the design of the bottle. Since they did that to all of their shower gels I don’t think it’s a very important change, but more a logical one. I do have to say that I like the design of the new packaging a lot better, but the old one wasn’t terrible either.
Scent wise I wasn’t sure whether or not it was different because all that has changed is one part of the name. After giving both of them a good sniff I found out there is definitely something different between the two.
I do have to admit that the difference isn’t too big. The glazed apple from last year turned into spiced apple this year and that difference is way more noticeable. However, there is definitely something different. I can’t really put my finger on what exactly, but it just is.
I did like the frosted cranberry scent from last year, but I wasn’t in love with it. I actually hardly ever used it. The frosted berries scent from this years collection however has been a big favourite of mine ever since I got it. The scent is just a little more Christmassy and a little less cranberry like and I think that’s a great change.
Overall I’m a big fan of the new Frosted Berries shower gel by The Body Shop and I’m really glad they decided to change the scent a little bit. It’s just a bit more up my alley and I love that! I know that Christmas is over already but it’s still available (and if you’re lucky it’s even on sale) so if you’re curious to find out whether or not you’re going to like it yourself, there’s still a chance for you to find out!
The TBS Frosted Berries Shower Gel is available online and in stores for €7,-.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which Christmas scent by TBS you love the most!
