Like I mentioned in my latest Body Shop Haul, I’ve been wanting to try the British Rose collection by The Body Shop for ages now. I absolutely love the scent of rose and the products in this range seemed perfect for me. I ended up ordering both the body butter and the shower gel and today it’s time for the review. If you’re interested in finding out more about these two products, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off with discussing the body butter. I’m so obsessed with the body butters by TBS that I had to buy this one. It comes in a powdery pink colour and the lid is black with a rose on top. I really like the way it looks. It’s simple but you know what you can expect right of the bat.
The texture of this body butter is quite different from all the other TBS body butters. And you can trust me on this one since I own about 15 body butters from The Body Shop. Most of those butters are either very hard and others are more smooth but still have that smooth and silky texture. This body butter is also on the more soft side but it has a more whipped texture than the other soft ones do.
I do really like the whipped texture because it absorbs quickly, you don’t need a lot of it and it doesn’t leave greasy layer but it will be very moisturising. It’s a very nice product to work with and I think it’s perfect for people with normal to rather dry skin (on the body).
The scent is absolutely incredible. It smells pretty similar to my beloved Atlas Mountain Rose products by The Body Shop but it’s a little less perfumy and a little more natural smelling. It’s not as intense and rosy as Atlas Mountain Rose is which makes this perfect for both people who love the scent of rose as well as those who aren’t a too big fan of it.
So now that we have discussed the body butter let’s move onto the shower gel. Before we jump into anything I want to let you guys know that I’m in love with these new shower gel packagings. The old ones were okay, nothing wrong with those but there wasn’t anything special about it either. However this one has a unique and fancy look to it that I just love.
The shower gel contains 250 ml of product and that’s pretty basic. When I took this picture I’d already use it about two or three times and as you can tell it’s still pretty full. Especially if you use a shower puff this will last you for quite some time!
Scent wise it’s exactly the same as the body butter. It’s quite a strong scent and therefore it will linger once you get out of the shower. It’s not too strong in a way it takes over your whole bodily scent, but it is a little stronger than most other body butters I own and I think that that’s a very good thing!
Overall I’m really happy with this shower gel. I really like the scent and it just works really well for me. It’s not drying, you only need a little bit of it in order to wash your entire body and it makes me feel nice and clean.
All together this whole British Rose collection is a big win for me. I really like the scent, it’s a combination of natural and luxurious and the texture of the body butter is a big win for me as well. If you love the scent of roses and are looking for something new to try, make sure you give this range a go!
The British Rose Body Butter costs €16,- and the Shower Gel €7,- and both products are available at The Body Shop.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which collection by The Body Shop is your absolute favourite!
