Yesterday I wrote about my recently updated skincare routine. Three products in there are very new to my collection and are by The Body Shop. I mentioned that I was going to write a review about them very soon, and today is that day. Today I’m going to talk about the The Body Shop Aloe Calming skincare products and how I like them. If you’re interested in finding out, make sure you continue reading!
The Aloe range by The Body Shop is focussed on calming your skin. My skin has been pretty sensitive and irritated lately so I felt like it was right about time for me to use something like this. Because I usually don’t buy things that aren’t make for combo to oily skin I usually wouldn’t have picked this, but I’m glad I decided to give these products are chance.
All three products come in the renewed TBS packagings. I have said it like a million times and I’m going to say it once again: I absolutely incredibly love these renewed packagings. They look so classy and chique! They’re perfect.
So, without further ado, let’s start discussing the first product: the Aloe Calming Cream Cleanser. This cleanser is fragrance free, colourant free, preservative free and alcohol free and made with pure hand-filleted Aloe. I don’t know what hand-filleted means but it does sound pretty impressive if you ask me.
Anyway, TBS does like to make it sound very interesting but simply said this is just a milky makeup remover. I haven’t used a lot of cleansing milks over the years because I felt like it just didn’t really work for me, but I have to say this one surprised me. If you put a bit of it on a cotton pad, hold it over your eyes for a few seconds and then wipe away all of your eye makeup will be removed. Aside from removing your eye makeup it also does an amazing job at removing the rest of your makeup. It’s very mild but it does the job perfectly!

The next product I want to discuss is the Aloe Calming Toner. This comes in a clear bottle and has a greenish blue tint to it. Just like the cream cleanser it’s free of lot’s of bad ingredients and it’s made with fresh Aloe. I really like that about The Body Shop. I actually believe what they claim and I’m glad that they work that way.
Like most of you guys know, toners tend to be quite drying on the skin. Even though I have oily skin I don’t like the way that feels. When I was about to try out this toner I was very curious to find out whether or not this was any different because it still is a toner but on the other hand it does claim to be calming. In the end it turned out to be very sensitive yet very effective. It’s a great and refreshing product that does an incredible job at removing the last bits and pieces of makeup, without hurting or damaging the quality of your skin!

Onto the last product: the moisturiser. This is the Aloe Soothing Day Cream, but I personally prefer using it as a night cream. The texture of the cream is very unique. It’s quite thick and rich and full of good ingredients, but it’s not too heavy on the skin. For me it’s the perfect night cream since it’s a lot more hydrating than the creams I use during the day, but it’s not too greasy for my skin to handle.
When I first used this cream I wasn’t sure about the soothing part. I bought it so it would soothe my irritated skin, but at first my skin felt just as irritated. After using it for a couple of days the irritation started to go away and my skin hasn’t felt irritated or painful ever since. So all together this product ended up being a great way to get rid of my irritation and in addition to that it really improved the quality of my skin. It looks way better now and it feels way more healthy than ever before. I’m very happy with this product!
The TBS Aloe Soothing Day Cream costs €18,-
Overall I think all three skincare products from the Aloe range by The Body Shop that I’ve tried are incredible. They are indeed very soothing and they managed to calm my very irritated and painful skin down. I really like how nice all products feel on my skin and how they are so sensitive yet effective. I highly recommend giving these a try if you struggle with irritated or sensitive skin!
This TBS Aloe Vera Skincare products are individually available or in a set that costs €26,-.
That was it for today’s review. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which skincare products are your current favourites!
