Blush is a makeup product that I really like. It’s not my favourite, but definitely not my least favourite either. It’s just something I can really enjoy using. When it comes to blush I am very specific with the things I like to use. Or well, it’s more that not a lot of blushes really stand the test of time. Therefore there are only very few blushes that I do love a whole bunch and wear a lot at the same time. In today’s post I’m going to share which five blushes are my favourites. These are the ones that have stood the test of time and the ones I use almost exclusively. So, if you’re interested in finding out which ones they are, make sure you continue reading!
Hourglass Ambient Lightning Blush in Mood Exposure – €42
The first blush I want to show you guys is my beloved Hourglass Ambient Lightning Blush in the shade Mood Exposure. I got this from my boyfriend last year when we went to London together. I fell in love with it from the moment I started using it. These Hourglass blushes are very popular but that’s not for no reason. They are just the best. In terms of formula, texture and also the shades they have. Everything about this product is top notch and for me definitely worth the money.
The shade Mood Exposure is a really pretty natural everyday blush colour. It has a mixture of pink and more brown-toned pink in it and this creates a very realistic flush. The powder is very finely milled and it feels super, super soft. The blush goes on really, really smoothly and creates the most stunning natural flush ever. It applies evenly and with the right amount of pigment. It also has the prettiest finish to it. A very settle sheen, like it’s actual satin. I really like the over all look of this blush on my cheeks and therefore it’s definitely the one that I use the most. I really want to add more of these blushes to my collection. They are so worth it!
Yves Saint Laurent Blush Volupte in Passionate – €48,50
Moving on to this Yves Saint Laurent Blush Volupte in the shade Passionate. I used to dream of having an YSL for the longest time and a couple of months ago that dream finally came true. I’m really, really happy with this blush and it’s one of the purchases I ever did I’m most happy about. The shade of this blush is just perfect to me. It’s a nice and fresh pink colour. A colour that will look nice and natural on the cheeks, but that will add a healthy flush to the cheeks as well. I think it’s very flattering on my skin tone, but I’m pretty sure it will work for lots of other skin tones as well.
The scent of this blush is really nice as well. If you’ve ever smelled an YSL lipstick, well, this smells just like that. It’s a very classic and luxurious scent and I do think that that’s a nice bonus. Aside from all that I’m also really happy with the formula of this blush. It applies very easily and evenly and it also has that luxurious sheen kind of finish. That’s a finish I’m really, really into. All in all this is just a phenomenal blush and I now totally get why I had been wanting it for so long. It’s the best!
Nars Blush in Torrid – €31,50
Next up is another one of my top favourite blushes. This is by the brand Nars, which in my opinion is one of the best blush-brands ever. They have such a wide variety of blush shades in their collection and the formula of their blushes is just really on point. So far I have three Nars blushes in my collection, but this Nars Blush in the shade Torrid is by far my favourite. The shade Torrid is very unique. It’s a peachy pink, almost a coral shade. It’s fresh but also very natural. I do think it is a bit warmer than the YSL one I just showed you and I like that about it.
Like I said the formula of these Nars blushes is just incredible. It’s a very rich formula with a lot of pigment. It is a blush you will want to apply with a brush that isn’t very dense, but that’s okay. It does transfer the most gorgeous blush shade onto your cheeks in a very effortless way. I think that this makes my over all complexion look very healthy and fresh. But what’s even better than all that is that this blush is super long lasting. I don’t know what it is about it, but this stuff does not budge at all!
Dior Splendor 2016 Blush – €48
Next up is a limited edition blush from the Dior Splendor collection of 2016. I get that including limited editions into posts like this isn’t handy, but I did want to keep it real and this is what I use the most. And by the way, I’m pretty sure that if this shade is flippin’ amazing, all of the other Dior blushes will too. The only difference between this and their regular blushes is the design on the powder.
Anyway, I think that this is the prettiest and most flattering blush shade I own. This has the right balance of peach and pink in it, which looks super flattering on me. It makes me look very healthy and vital. I also love how natural it looks on my skin tone, even if you apply a bit more powder than you’d normally do. In addition to that the blush also has the most amazing formula and just like all my other favourites, this blush also has that absolutely stunning luxurious satin sheen finish. I just think that finish adds so much to the over all look. I know it’s very settle and most people probably don’t notice it. But I do and I love it.
MAC Mineralized Blush in Dainty – €27
The last blush I want to talk to you guys about is this super famous MAC Mineralized Blush in the shade Dainty. It is a product that I have forgotten about a little bit, but whenever I do actually go back to it I realise why I have loved it so much for so long. Dainty is just the perfect everyday blush colour. It’s a cool toned shiny pink colour that looks very flattering on anyone. It really gives you that flush you have when you’ve just gotten inside on a day it was cold out. You know, that really healthy looking flush.
Since this is a baked blush it doesn’t have as silky of a texture as the other blushes do, but that doesn’t make this less amazing. I think it’s the perfect blush to start off with and I think it’s a blush you can’t go wrong with. This definitely is a staple for me! I love, love, love it!
And that basically sums up my blush top 5. I hope you enjoyed reading about the blushes that I love so dearly and be sure to let me know which blushes you love the absolute most!
Wauw ze zijn allemaal zo mooi! Ik zit net te kijken en heb geen van alle in mijn collectie…weer wat voor op mijn wishlist haha x
Mood Exposure is a favourite of mine too! You can’t beat the Hourglass formula 🙂
