Blush, Blush, Blush: My Top 5 Blushes For Those Perfectly Flushed Cheeks

20/07/2017

Blush is one of those products I love but I’m also not that interested in. My opinion and amount of interest in them changes about every couple of days. At the moment I’m getting more and more into blush again so I decided it might be fun to do a little post for you guys talking about my top five blushes, the blushes I have tried and tested and loved the most out of them all. So, without further ado, if you’re interested in finding out which blushes to get your hands on if you’re on the hunt for perfectly flushed cheeks, make sure you continue reading!

Let’s start off with my absolute favourite blush of all time, just because I’m really excited about this one. The blush I’m talking about the Dior Splendor 2016 blush. It’s from the Christmas collection of 2016 and I’m really glad I got my hands on it. When I bought it I had literally no idea that it was limited edition, from their Christmas collection and I had no idea that it would sell out as quickly as it did, but I’m glad I didn’t wait around but just bought it when I saw it. It’s seriously one of my best makeup purchases ever in my opinion.

This blush isn’t just gorgeous, it also has the worlds most wonderful formula. I have said it many, many times before, but I just think that this Dior blush is just the best. It has this satiny texture, it feels so luxurious and nice on the skin. It’s so smooth and perfect. It glides on like a dream and it will never, ever be blotchy. It also has this satiny finish once applied which makes it look really perfect and luxurious on the skin which is a look I really like. The pigmentation is also just perfect. It’s not too pigmented, it’s not too sheer, it just has the perfect amount of colour pay off which makes it even more amazing. I absolutely love this product.

Next up is a blush by MAC. It’s the first rather expensive blush I ever bought and there has been a time where I just didn’t like it that much, but recently I completely rediscovered this beauty. I’m talking about the MAC Mineralized Blush in the shade Dainty. I believe it was like my second or third MAC purchase and the mua at MAC told me this would be the best shade for me. She also said that it’s a very popular and much loved shade in the beauty community which I was very excited about at that time.

The reason why I didn’t like it for a while is actually the reason why I like it now. I know that’s extremely vague and also kind of weird, but that’s just who I am. It’s a pretty light pink, a bit of a princess pink I would say and it has a few chunky glitters in it. The chunky glitters don’t look cheap though, it’s done in a really pretty way. Just like the Dior blush it also has the perfect amount of colour pay off which just looks really good on. Another thing that I love about it is that the colour just instantly gives you the perfect natural flush. I love that a lot about it!

Moving on to a blush I bought quite a while ago. It was quite an impulse purchase but it seems like impuls blush-purchases just really work for me. The blush I’m talking about is by Becca. It’s one of their Mineral Powder blushes in the shade Damselfly. It’s a really pretty peachy pink shade that looks absolutely amazing on all skin tones. To me it’s one of the most versatile blush shades and that’s one of the many reasons why I like it so much.

The quality of this blush is just outstanding as well. It has this really nice and soft texture. It’s not as smooth as the Dior blush, but it does have a great feel to it. Aside from that I feel like it does last quite long on my skin and it just makes my cheeks look really, really pretty (if I can say so myself). It’s just a gorgeous product and I enjoy using it.

Becca Mineral Powder Blush in Damselfly – €37

Moving on to the fourth blush already. This is the Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in the shade Genius. I bought it in a set around Christmas time along with a brush and I do love all four of the blushes that came in the set, but this is by far my favourite one out of them. It’s just the perfect everyday pink colour that looks good with anything and everything. Aside from that I also really enjoy the size of this blush. I believe it’s actually a travel size which makes this perfect for on the go. It doesn’t take in much space at all and I personally never use up a blush so I don’t mind too much that it isn’t the full size.

Anyway, the thing that makes this blush so special is the texture. Tarte makes these amazing Amazonian Clay products and I love them for that. I can’t really explain what it’s like, but it’s just so different from regular products. The texture feels way more intense and high-quality. Not intense in a bad way, but just loaded with great things. I’m really struggling trying to explain it, so if you really want to know what it’s like I highly suggest getting an Amazonian Clay product for yourself and actually feeling it yourself!

Lastly we have this gorgeous NARS blush. It’s from the Sarah Moon collection and the shade is called Isadora. I never thought I would ever own a NARS blush which makes having it even more special. The fact that it’s from a special collection makes it even more amazing, but it’s not the reason why I bought it. I just thought it was the prettiest colour they had at that time and that’s obviously the most important factor when it comes to blushes.

Pigmentation-wise this blush is pretty intense so I do like to apply it with a less dense brush. If you do that you don’t have to worry about over-applying at all. Aside from that it just looks really pretty on the skin. It’s the perfect blush colour with the perfect satiny finish that I love so dearly and this really last all day. Literally all day. I love it a lot!

NARS x Sarah Moon Blush in Isadora – €27,45

And that concludes today’s post. Those are my five absolute favourite blushes and note that I am pretty picky when it comes to blushes. It has to be really special in order for me to really fall in love with it and all five blushes I mentioned managed to do that. Anyway, thank you so much for reading today’s post and be sure to let me know which (five) blushes are your absolute favourites!

XOXO, Nicole.

Wauw mooie collectie blushes heb je zeg! Ik doe het eigenlijk altijd met hele cheape blushes van 2/3 euro. Matte roze kleuren vind ik het mooiste bij mezelf. Glans doe ik met highlighter.
