Shopping is pretty much my favourite thing to do, so my bestfriend and I made it a tradition to go shopping on my birthday. This year we went to both Eindhoven and Den Bosch and I bought lots of amazing things. Usually I’d come home with a ton of makeup, but this time I actually bought quite a few clothing items and other stuff. Today I’m going to show you guys what I got. If you’re interested in finding out, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s go through everything in chronological order. The first store I went to was Monki. It just opened and I heard it was pretty amazing. I really needed some new black pants and because I heard their jeans were quite nice I ended up getting a pair. These are their super stretch high-waist jeans. I don’t think they are super stretchy, but they are stretchy enough and they fit really, really well.
Next up we went to TK Maxx. I have been loving their bag section for a while now but I try to avoid it so I don’t get temped to buy them. This time, because it was my birthday, I allowed myself to go in and of course I found a bag. The bag is by a brand called Fiorelli and it’s in an eggplant colour. I think it’s very unique and absolutely stunning. I love it.
Aside from the bag I also bought a candle at TK Maxx. I don’t know what brand it is but it smells absolutely incredible and it comes in a really nice jar so I decided I needed to have it!
The Monki jeans and the Fiorelli bag set me back €30,- each and the candle was €9,-.
Next up we went to my favourite store on earth: The Body Shop. I had a 5 euro off coupon because of my birthday and another 5 euro off coupon because I spent way too much money there. Because they were about to expire I decided to go in and find something worthy of the coupons and buy that.
I ended up buying this Aloe Vera skincare set. I never really thought I’d get anything from this range, but because my skin was feeling pretty sensitive lately I actually felt like this was going to be a great set for me. I’m really excited to give the three products inside a try!
The TBS Aloe Vera Skincare set costs €26,- (but I only paid €16 because of the coupons).
The last store we went to in Eindhoven was Ici Paris XL. I had some coupons ready to spend and I wanted to buy a fancy piece of makeup for myself as a birthday gift (to myself). I actually decided I wanted an YSL lipstick but when I was waiting for a staff member to help me I came across the Dior Star foundation and decided I wanted that too.
When the staff member finally came to help me we discovered that the YSL lipstick shade I wanted was out of stock so I ended up just buying the foundation. The best thing about this purchase is that because of the coupons I had and the giftcard I had, I only had to pay 10 Euro’s!
The Dior Star Foundation costs €50,90.
After that purchase we went to the train station and took a train to Den Bosch. Recently a store called Søstrene Grene has opened in Den Bosch and I couldn’t wait to go there. When I came there I realised it was the most amazing store on earth and I ended up letting myself go a little (well, not a little). I ended up buying quite a few items.
One of the items I picked up is this really cute greyish blue vase. Vases like this are everywhere lately and I think they’re absolutely adorable so I really wanted one for myself.
I also bought a little cardboard box with a cute design on it. I didn’t really know what purpose it was going to have in my room, but I ended up using it to store my eye pencils. It’s actually perfect for that!
And if that wasn’t enough on the box department I also bought this little tin with a wintery design to store my tea. Back in Poland I bought quite a lot of tea and we didn’t really have a lot of jars or tins to store it back at home so I felt like I had to buy this one because of that.
The vase was €2,38, the box €1,38 and the tin €1,72.
At Søstrene Grene I also bought a set of 2 adorably designed pens and a really pretty notebook. It’s quite small and has a hard cover, which is pretty but not really my favourite thing when it comes to usefulness, but because it looks so pretty I decided to buy it anyway.
And the last two things I bought at Søstrene Grene are these two boxes with water. I mean how adorable are these?! I just loved the way they looked and decided I needed two so I could drink one and save for for decoration purposes at home.
The pens costed me €1,26, the notebook €1,23 and the boxed water costed me €0,48 each.
After Søstrene Grene I believe we went to Etos. At Etos I only bought two things: these two gorgeous Herome nail polishes. Back in the day I was obsessed with these and lately they are nowhere to be found. When I saw them I just knew I had to buy them. I chose the two prettiest colours and took ’em with me (obviously I paid for them first).
After Etos we went to Kruidvat because I wanted to pick up some budget makeup products to review on my blog. I know that I’ve been all about the high-end stuff lately but I feel like I also need to write about budget makeup products from time to time. Sadly they didn’t have a lot of products that I thought were worthy of my money and I ended up only buying the Essence Make Me Brow brow gel. I’m really excited to give it a try!
The Herome nail polishes were on sale for €3 each and the Essence brow gel costed me €2,69.
Next up we went to a clothing store called Only. They had a 20% off everything sale going on that day so it seemed like the perfect time to buy myself a new sweater. After browsing through the store several times I came across this adorable grey knitted sweater with hearts on it. I thought it was super adorable and I had to buy it. It’s just perfect for me.
The Only sweater was originally €35 but because of the sale I only had to pay €28.
After buying that sweater I was done spending money so I decided it was time to head home. My friend took a train back home and I waited back at the station for my boyfriend so we could go to my place together. When he arrived he offered me to go shopping with me (which is something that has never happened before) and I couldn’t decline. We went back to the city and I ended up getting a new Lush product.
Because it was very busy at the bath section (and because I never take baths) I decided to buy a skincare product. I ended up getting a little bottle of the Tea Tree Water. It seemed very interesting and perfect for my skintype.
The Lush Tea Tree Water costed €6,95.
After purchasing that we went back to Eindhoven so we could go home but we ended up going to a restaurant first. Before we headed to the restaurant we decided to visit a few more stores since it was way too early to go eat already and I purchased even more clothing items.
The first item I got is this really cute green flannel. I don’t own any flannels (because I think they make me look very un-feminine) but I did really want one. I think this one is absolutely adorable and because my boyfriend was so sweet to gift it I think it’s even more amazing!
At Primark I also bought my first ever (fake) leather jacket. I’ve been wanting one since the day I was born and now (after 19 years) I finally have one. This one is very simple but not boring and it doesn’t look too fake. It fits really nicely and even though it doesn’t completely match my usual clothing style I do really like the way it looks on me (if I’m allowed to say that).
The Primark fake leather jacket costed me €14,-.
After buying that we went to dinner and after that we went home. I was an incredibly nice day and I’m really happy with all of the items I ended up getting.
But aside from the things I bought I also wanted to show you guys a few things that I received for my birthday from my friends and family.
The first thing I got are these incredibly amazing earphones from a brand called AKG. My boyfriend gifted these to me and I’m so, so, so happy with them. Seriously they change the way you lister to music and that’s just amazing. I’m actually going to review them so if you are curious to find out why they are so amazing, stay tuned for that!
My boyfriend also gifted me this really pretty MAC Lip Crayon thingy. I didn’t even know MAC made these but o my lord it’s stunning. I absolutely love the colour and I think it looks super pretty on. I’m actually very impressed by my boyfriend for choosing a colour this pretty!
From my mom I also got an amazing gift. She bought me this really amazing tripod. I had a very old one that wasn’t very steady and pretty much broken and I was in desperate need for a new one. This one is by a brand called Hama and it looks so much better and steadier than the one I used to have. I really like getting gifts like that because they are useful and they are things I’d normally don’t buy for myself (even though I do need them!).
She, as well as most other people that came to my birthday party, gifted me a Douglas giftcard. I really like receiving gift cards because they allow me to go shopping without having to spend any money. How amazing is that?!
The last gift I received is from my best friend. She gave me this gorgeous sweater. It’s dark blue and has white stripes on it and says ‘mon cherie’. It’s absolutely stunning and totally my style and I love it! Thank you so much Charlotte!
And that’s everything I bought and received on my birthday! Thanks to everyone who made my birthday the best birthday I ever had and of course a special thanks to everyone for the amazing gifts. I hope you guys enjoyed reading today’s post and let me know which items from this haul you like the most!
