The last few months I’ve been quite into high-end makeup. I always liked it but lately high-end makeup is the only thing I’ve been buying. I do realise that not everyone has a budget for that and therefore I decided to change things up a little today and write about affordable makeup again. Today I’m going to show you which makeup products, affordable makeup products, I think are the very best and I’m also going to tell you why. So, if you’re interested in finding which affordable products I’d recommend, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off with base products: foundation and concealer. My affordable foundation favourite is, and has always been, the Maxfactor CC cream. Ever since I first tried it I’ve been in love with this product. It’s light, it has a gorgeous finish and it feels really nice on the skin. It’s literally the only affordable foundation I’ve tried so far that I’ve loved for that long. It just really, really works for me.
My concealer favourite is the well known and well loved Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. It’s just the best budget proof concealer in the world and even though everybody knows that already I thought you should hear that one more time. It’s perfect for covering up dark circles and it does a great job at spot correcting as well!
Another affordable product I really like is the Catrice Loose Powder. This particular one is from a limited edition collection, but they have one in their regular collection as well. I think it works better than any other powder I have used to far and it keeps my skin matte all day. I like that!
Something I also really like is the Essence Make Me Brow eyebrow gel. I recently reviewed it and in that review I told you why it’s such an amazing product. If you want to read the whole shabam you should go and check that out, but in short it’s just a great and pigmented brow gel that keeps my brows looking good all day.
Another well known brow favourite of mine is the good old trusty Maybelline Brow Satin. I believe I fell in love with it about 1.5 years ago and I still use it very frequently. I just haven’t found any other affordable product that beats this and I’ve gotten so many compliments on my brows over the years thanks to this little guy. I’ve gone through about 4 or 5 of them and I’m still not over it.
Next up are my two absolute favourite affordable eye makeup products. First of all the Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze. I have used up 3 jars of this stuff and I still use it literally every single day. It’s the best eye makeup primer ever and the colour is just incredibly gorgeous. It’s my holy grail!
When it comes to actual eyeshadow I really like this little Essence Smokey Eyes Set. I usually don’t really like affordable eyeshadows and I specifically don’t like Essence eyeshadows, but this palette really wowed me. The shadows are really pigmented and they blend so nicely. It’s a great palette to use on a daily basis!
Onto the cheeks. One of my favourite blushes at the moment is the Kiko Colour Veil blush in shade number 01 Pink. It’s a very light and cool-toned blush that kinda reminds me of MAC Dainty which I love as well. It adds a nice and fresh colour to the cheek and instantly freshens up your complexion.
Aside from that I’m also quite a fan of the MUA Undressed Highlighter. It’s literally the only affordable highlighter I’ve ever tried that is intense enough and that looks good on my skin. It has the perfect highlighty colour, it stays in place all day and it’s just very intense. I love it!
Lastly I have quite a couple of lipsticks to show you guys. First of all I really enjoy using the P2 lipsticks. I don’t really care from which range they are, literally every P2 lipstick I have ever tried is just incredibly amazing. They are creamy, buttery, they have a nice finish and they all stay in place pretty decently for a budget proof lipstick.
Aside from that I’m also a big fan of the L’Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipsticks. My favourite shades are Dating Coral and Scarlet Aphrodite but I also love the other shades I own. These are slightly more expensive than the P2 lipsticks are but they are amazingly incredible. I wear these all the time!
The next affordable lip favourite is the Essence Velvet Matte lipstick. I don’t like matte lipsticks, like you guys know, but this is a whole different story. It glides on like a butter and it feels like a butter but it does have a matte finish and therefore it just doesn’t budge throughout the days. I love Essence lipsticks, but this one really surprised me. It’s incredible!
And then it’s time for my very last budget favourite: the Sleek Pout Polishes. I love these. These are a combination between tinted lip balm and creamy lipstick. They are pretty pigmented but also very hydrating. They feel really comfortable on your lips but they totally finish off your look at the same time. If that isn’t incredible I don’t really know what is.
And that basically concludes today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s budget friendly post and let me know which affordable makeup products you think are the very best!
XOXO, Nicole.
