I’ve never really been a fan of creamy highlighter. I just didn’t like the way it felt on the skin and I just preferred powder. However, when I saw this little set from Benefit that contained both the Hoola Bronzer and the Watt’s Up Highlighter, I got kinda curious. I decided to order it and give it a try. Today it’s time for me to review the highlighter. If you’re interested in finding out more about it, make sure you continue reading!
The Benefit Watt’s Up Highlighter comes in the most adorable packaging ever. Benefit really killed it on this one. The box in which the product comes is just incredible. It has a few puns on it (which are way too funny) and it just looks incredibly cute. I mean, how can you not like packagings like this. Please tell me cause I really don’t know.
The packaging of the actual product is really cute too. It’s made out of a shiny purple material and it has some light bulbs on it. I just love it. One end of the product has the highlighter on it and the other end has a little sponge on it that could be used to blend out the product.
On the back of the box Benefit gives us some more information regarding this product. They claim that it should give you a delicate champagne sheen and that the texture is smooth as cream and turns into a powder once applied.
Overall I do agree with these claims. Especially the texture part. I’m in love with that. Normally I don’t like highlighter sticks like this one because they are way too hard and you really have to work hard in order to get some of the product on your face, which will move your foundation and create a look way different from what you actually want. This product however is super soft and goes on so easily and smoothly. It doesn’t move anything.
If it really turns into a powder like structure I don’t know. I think it’s a bit of a creamy powder texture, but that’s totally okay. It looks really natural but glowy and that’s another thing I really like about it. I know that extremely pigmented highlighters are all the rage nowadays but I personally prefer a bit of a more settle look. This highlighter is perfect if you want that.
When it comes to staying power this is one of the best highlighters ever. It literally stays in place all day. Whether you put it on top of your powder or underneath, this product just doesn’t go anywhere. I love it!
I’m so impressed by the quality of this product. It’s literally so different from the creamy stick highlighters I’ve tried before and I absolutely love it. It made me completely change my mind about cream highlighters and I’m really glad it did.
This is by far one of the best highlighters in my collection, the colour is absolutely stunning, the sheen it adds to the complexion is gorgeous and it just doesn’t budge. It’s absolutely incredible and I highly recommend giving it a try, even if you’re not that into cream highlighters.
The Benefit Watt’s Up Highlighter is available at Sephora and Douglas for €33,-.
That was everything for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know if you’ve ever tried a cream highlighter and if so let me know how you like them!
XOXO, Nicole.
Heb ‘m wel eens geswatcht in de Douglas, echt een heel mooie highlighter! Alleen heb ik echt geen idee hoe je dit netjes aanbrengt zonder dat het één dikke streep wordt.
