Becca has been quite a popular brand lately and I have heard so many good things about it I just had to try some of their products. After looking around for a while I ended up buying one of the Becca blushes in a gorgeous colour called Damselfly. After trying it out thoroughly, it’s time for me to review it. If you’re interested in finding out more about this gorgeous blush, make sure you keep on reading!
The Becca Mineral Powder blushes come in a pretty luxurious feeling dark brown box with the name of the brand on it. When you open it up you’ll find a round packaging, a typical Becca packaging. It has a dark brown outside and the middle part kinda looks like metal. I have to say that if this was a brand I didn’t know, I wouldn’t be atrackted to it because of the packaging, just because I know and love Becca I kinda like it.
By the way, something I noticed right when I took this blush out of its box is that it’s super small. I expected it to be way bigger. The blush does contain 6 grams of powder which is normal, but the packaging is just really small. On one hand that makes it a very convenient product to travel with, but on the other hand it wouldn’t have been bad if it was a little bigger.
The colour I chose, called Damselfly, is a very unique one. For the past couple of months I’ve been on the hunt for a pretty peachy colour, and this is exactly that. The thing I love so much about it is that it’s not just a basic peach colour, it has something really special to it. It just looks different in every light.
Back in the day I used to love shimmery blushes, but nowadays I gravitate more towards matte ones. This one isn’t matte, but it’s not super shimmery either. It has a few gold shimmers to it, but nothing more than that. Those shimmers do add a little bit extra to the overall look of this product on your cheeks, but it definitely isn’t glowy or something like that.
Like I said, Damselfly isn’t your basic peachy blush. If it was I wouldn’t have spend so much money on it. The thing that makes it so special is that it’s different every time you look at it. On the pictures it looks like it has a bit of a pink touch to it, but in real life it has more of a rusty tone to it. Not too much, not in a bronzy way, but in a pretty way.
I think Damselfly is a colour that looks good on everybody. I know I say that with almost every colour, but to be honest, why would a colour not look good on one person and look good on the other. I think everyone who loves wearing a certain colour should. But that wasn’t the point at all.
Anyway, even though I’m not good at deciding whether a colour is warm or cool toned, I do think this is more of a warm toned colour. I really like warm toned colours, so this blush is definitely a perfect fit for me. It really adds some warmth to my super pale face and I love the way that looks.
It was really hard for me to capture the colour of the blush on camera, but I guess you can see the difference here right. The pictures on the left side are without blush and the pictures on the right side are with Damselfly.
As you can tell, Damselfly is quite a pigmented blush, bit it’s not too pigmented. It’s easy to work with and you don’t have to worry about over applying. The thing I like so much about this blush is that it goes on so smoothly. It’s really the perfect everyday blush for me.
But if it’s worth the €37 Euro’s this baby costs? Well, in my opinion it is. If you’re a big beauty lover, this is definitely a product you’ll not regret buying. However, if you’re not that into makeup, just go for a more budget proof brand. Quality wise this is a bit better, but it’s not worth that amount of money if you don’t love makeup anyway.
Overall I think the Becca Mineral Blush is absolutely incredible. I am in love with it and to be honest I never want to use anything else anymore. I really love the way it looks on the cheeks, I love how easy it is to apply it and I am in love with the colour. If you’re a makeup lover like me, I highly recommend giving one of the Becca blushes a try!
That was it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and let me know if you have tried any Becca products and if so, let me know how you like them!
