In my Black Friday Haul I showed you guys I got the Original Beautyblender Keep.It. Clean. I always struggle with cleaning my Beautyblender. I actually really, really hate doing it. And then I saw this. A little tool made by Beautyblender that is supposed to make your Beautyblender cleaning ritual a lot easier and more effective. Obviously I was intrigued and because it was on sale for a very reasonable price I decided I was going to buy it. I’ve cleansed my Beautyblender with it a couple of times now, which means that today it’s about time for me to review this tool and let you guys know whether it really does make cleaning your Beautyblender easier or not! If you’re interested in finding out, make sure you continue reading this post!
The Original Beautyblender Keep.It.Clean actually is one of those rubber thingies with different sizes of lumps on it. These things are already pretty popular for cleaning your brushes and now Beautyblender made one aimed at cleaning your Beautyblender. I already had one for my brushes but I wasn’t sure whether that one was appropriate for cleaning your Beautyblender. I actually think that when it has more than just round little nubs on it that it will tear the Beautyblender apart. Therefore I haven’t tried that for you guys.
The Beautyblender version is quite different to the one I have for my brushes though. It’s a lot smaller and therefore you can hold it in your hand. It also has an opening on each side that allows you to put your hand through it and have proper grip. It also is shaped like a Beautyblender, it’s bright pink and it has three sizes of rounded nubs on it that will help you cleanse your sponge.
The Beautyblender Keep.It.Clean comes with this little cleansing tool but they also give you a sample of both their liquid as well as the solid cleanser. That’s really nice especially if you don’t have them already. It allows to try it before you buy it.
Original Beautyblender Keep.It.Clean Cleansing Mitt – €16
Inside the box is a piece of paper with some instructions on how to use it written on it. This is really handy because at first I had no idea how to properly hold this thing. On this page you can see that this cleansing mitt can be used for both cleansing your Beautyblender as well as your brushes. I do think that’s nice. This way you don’t have to buy a separate product for cleansing your makeup brushes.
According to Beautyblender their Keep.It.Clean Cleansing Mitt is a compact and travel sized cleansing tool. It’s supposed to be easy to use. The pink textured mitt should fit perfectly over the palm of the hand to work your choice of cleanser deep into the sponge, removing product build up and bacteria. Since this set comes with two sample sized cleansers is the perfect all-in-one cleansing kit for your Beautyblender.
Their claims are pretty short and snappy but I do think they are very clear and also very true. The thing with Beautyblender is, is that it’s impossible to clean them really well and get stains out. It takes forever to get it somewhat stainless. But after using it just once getting it completely stainless is already impossible for me. I also really like that they say that it actually removes bacteria from your Beautyblender, which means that it will prevent your Beautyblender from getting moldy.
Like I mentioned this cleansing kit comes with two samples of their cleansers. The liquid Blendercleanser and the Solid Blendercleanser. I already have full sizes of both, but still I think it’s really nice they give you these. I am going to review my full-size Solid Blendercleanser soon, but as for now I do definitely think that these original cleansers are way better and way more effective than replica’s or similar products can ever be. I have used a lot of more affordable products for cleaning my Beautyblenders but they never are very effective. These two definitely are. They are worth the splurge if you like your blender to be really clean.
In my opinion the Solid Blendercleanser is more effective than the Liquid Blendercleanser. I think the liquid one is more convenient to use, but it doesn’t get the stains off like the solid one does. The solid one however is more aggressive and will therefore get the colour of the blender to fade much quicker than the liquid cleanser does. So it’s really up to you and your preferences which one will work the best for you.
Lookign at the before and after I think it’s clear that I get along very well with the cleansing mitt from Beautyblender. The colour of my Beautyblender has faded a lot since this is a pretty old one. But looking at how much foundation is in it on the first picture compared to on the second one, it’s crazy. I have never been able to get my Beautyblender this clean. It has actually never been this way. Every last bit of foundation is gone.
The thing with this cleansing mitt is that it allows you to really get the grind out of the blender. At some point all of the stains seemed to be gone, but I still saw that there was foundation coming out of the sponge. That’s just a sign that this mitt actually deep cleanses your sponge. That it does much more than just using your hands. It’s also a lot easier because all you have to do is rub the blender along the mitt. You do have to put soap on it beforehand and if you’re using the solid one this can be a little unhandy because it gets slippery, but aside from that this is super convenient.
Cleaning my Beautyblender used to take like 10 minutes and it wouldn’t be stainless like it is now. Nowadays when I’m using the Keep.It.Clean cleansing mitt it takes 5 minutes tops and it’s so much more clean. I’m so in love with this tool. I know that it’s just a rubbery/silicone flap but it works so well and it makes my life so much easier. I just love the fact that my blenders are actually clean now. I feel like that will make them last much longer as well.
All in all the Original Beautyblender Keep.It.Clean Cleansing Mitt has stolen my heart. I always dreaded cleaning my Beautyblenders but now it just takes a couple of minutes and it’s super, super clean. It’s so much easier and more effective. And that for just a couple of Euro’s. I know it might seem like a useless item to pay for, but if you use a lot of Beautyblenders this definitely is worth it.
With that being said I think it’s about time to end this post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know whether you hate cleaning your Beautyblenders too!
