A few years ago I decided not to join the new years resolutions craze anymore. It just didn’t work for me. If I want to change something I’ll do that no matter what time of year it is. However, I do think the new year is a great time to create a new set of goals for the next year regarding beauty. This because it’s not too big of a deal and definitely not hard or unpleasant to reach those goals. So, without further ado, let’s get into my beauty goals for 2017!
The past year I’ve been upping my game when it comes to skincare. I bought better brands than I did before and spent a little more money to get something a little better for my skin. However, better brands doesn’t mean better results. Therefore I set a goal for myself this year.
This year I want to focus more on what’s inside the products I’m using on my skin. What does it do? What are the results? I want to create a better canvas for my makeup and the only way to do that is upping my skincare game.
Makeup that makes me happy
Back in the day I loved buying as much makeup as possible. It wasn’t about quality, it was mainly about quantity. Now that I’m a little older and I’ve got a job (so I can pay for better makeup) I’ve changed a lot in that sense. The past year I bought lots of gorgeous pieces of makeup that are made from high quality ingredients and materials and I love that.
This year I want to continue that. I only want to buy makeup that I think is great. Makeup that makes me happy. Makeup with gorgeous packagings, great formula’s and the nicest textures. Aside from making me pretty, the makeup has to make me happy.
Decluttering, decluttering, decluttering
I am one big-ass hoarder. Like I really am. For some reason I just can’t stop holding on to anything I ever bought, even though I hardly use most of it. This year I want to change that. I want to get rid of the products I don’t use and only own products that I actually use.
Investing in tools
Aside from buying makeup that makes me happy and buying better skincare, I also want to buy better tools. I do have quite a lot of brushes and stuff and most of them are absolutely incredible, but this year I want to buy even better tools. The reason why is because I think tools are investments.
Tools can be very expensive, we all know that. But tools don’t run out. You pay for them once and you can use them for ages. And the better tools you have, the easier and prettier the result will be. So this year I’m going to be all about the tools!
My last goal for 2017 is upping my storage game. I love organising and reorganising my makeup collection, but what I don’t like is the fact that I’m never completely satisfied with it. This year I want to find a way to store my makeup that makes me feel completely happy and one that makes me proud. I really hope I’ll find that this year!
And that guys concludes today’s post! I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure
to let me know which goals you have set for yourself for 2017!
