Beat The Under-Eye Circles With My Top 5 Favourite Concealers!

29/10/2018

For years my under-eye circles have been my main focus when it comes to makeup. It has been the thing that bothered me the most for pretty much all my life. I can sleep as long as I want, but my circles are genetic so they won’t leave. Throughout the years I have gone through a ton of concealers to cover them up and therefore I’ve collected a few favourites. In today’s post I wanted to share my top 5 favourite concealers with you guys to cover up your under-eye circles. I hope that with this post I can help people who struggle with the same problem I did all those times and save them the time and money spend on finding the perfect product. Anyway, if you’re interested in finding out which five concealers I love using the most to cover my bad boys up, make sure you continue reading!

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer – €29,50

My first concealer favourite is the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. I think this is number one on my list of favourites. It’s a very popular and hyped concealer and that’s for a good reason. Normally I’m not one to go with the hype just like that. But this is good. Somehow Nars managed to create the perfect liquid concealer formula. The thing about it is that it is liquid and easy to blend, but it does have enough creaminess to it and enough pigment. The combination of that makes that it looks very natural underneath the eyes and that it’s easy to work with.

In terms of coverage I think this one is amazing as well. It does really cover up the darkness and brightens the area as a whole. It all does it in such a beautiful and natural way that you can’t even tell you’re wearing concealer. I really love the way it does that. I love that it is natural yet high coverage and I love how easy it is to work with.

The only thing I do dislike about this concealer is that it runs out really quick. I feel like if I use this everyday for about two or three months it’s completely gone. And I don’t mean that it starts to run low then, no, then it’s completely gone. But because I love it so much I do always think that it is worth it to repurchase it again and again.

Dior Star Concealer – €35,95

Moving on to a whole different type of concealer, the Dior Star Concealer. This one has a completely different texture than the Nars Radiant Creamy one but is just as amazing. This one has more of a liquidy, lightweight formula. It is very smooth and silky which creates beautifully naturally looking results. It’s very easy to blend and to work with and it looks very natural on the complexion.

What I love about this concealer is that it doesn’t just cover up your under-eye circles by covering it up with coverage. It also has a bit of a yellow undertone to it which really helps. Yellow is known for counteracting the darkness underneath your eyes. Dior is known for their yellow undertones in their complexion makeup, so I don’t think they did it on purpose. However, if it works it works and I’m happy about it either way. I think this is an amazing concealer for underneath the eyes and I’d definitely recommend using it.

EDIT: While looking up the price of this concealer it came to my knowledge that Dior has discontinued this concealer. They have added a replacement to their collection. I’m going to give that a try sometime soon and let you guys know if that’s just as amazing!

Lancome Long Lasting Softening Concealer – €36,74

Next up is the incredible Lancome Long Lasting Softening Concealer. This comes very close to the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in terms of ranking. The only thing that makes the Nars one better is the ease of the packaging with the wand. Aside from that, this one is just as amazing.

The Lancome Long Lasting Softening Concealer is the first one that really changed the game for me. It’s a concealer with a ton of coverage and a very smooth and lightweight formula. Because of this formula it works amazingly underneath the eyes. It looks very natural and doesn’t get into the tiny wrinkles underneath them. In addition to that it is a very long lasting concealer, so it assures you of a well-rested look all day long.

The concealer comes in a tube which means you have to apply it with either your fingers or a brush. This isn’t my favourite way of applying it, but because this concealer is so amazing I think it’s worth it. A big pro about this concealer is that you get a lot of product in the little tube and a little bit of it goes a very long way, thanks to which this tube will last you a life time!

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer – £4,19

The fourth concealer I’m going to mention today is the famous Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer. I think everyone knows this by now and everyone has used it already, but that doesn’t make this less of an amazing concealer. It’s a very affordable concealer that is way more amazing than I ever expected it to be.

The first thing I like about it is that it comes in a very light shade, that is light enough to even have a bit of a brightening effect on me. That’s really never the case for me when it comes to budget proof concealer. Aside from that I also really like the formula on this. In a way it does remind me a bit of the Nars concealer because it does have a lightweight but creamy formula. It’s very easy to work with and it does look natural underneath the eyes, but thanks to the creaminess of the formula it has enough capacity to really cover up my under-eye bags.

If there’s any affordable concealer I’d recommend for serious dark circles it would definitely be this one. It’s the only drugstore concealer capable of really fighting the darkness for me.

Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer – €29,50

The last concealer out of the five I wanted to mention is the Nars Soft Matte Complete Concealer. This is the most recent favourite out of the five, but that doesn’t say anything about it’s awesomeness. This is a jar concealer and usually I wouldn’t think that that’s great for underneath the eyes. However, Nars managed to create a formula that works great on that area.

When you pick up the product using your fingers it already warms up a little bit making it more blendable. You just apply the tiniest bit underneath your eyes, blend it out with a Beautyblender and your under-eye circles are gone. It’s just like a little magic jar. A circle-eraser. It really does do magic for me.

The formula on this is really nice because it’s lightweight and very thin. It dries down to a matte finish, thanks to which this concealer stays in place for hours. Because of the large shade range it allows me to use a shade that is a tad bit lighter than my skin tone, so it even brightens the whole area for me. All in all this concealer does it all. It covers up, it brightens, it stays in place forever and it’s extremely comfortable and natural looking.

With that being said I have covered all of my top five concealer favourites. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post, and be sure to share your concealer favourites with me as well!

I’ve been liking the CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous concealer, but I’d love to try the NARS creamy next!
