Get Warm And Cozy With The Bath & Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar Shower Gel And Body Lotion!

26/09/2018

A couple of weeks ago I showed you guys what I bought in Warsaw this year. Just like last year I went to Bath & Body Works and I ended up getting a couple of products. This year I didn’t go as crazy as last year, but I did end up buying a big part of the Warm Vanilla Sugar collection. So far I’ve already reviewed the candle. But I hadn’t gotten around to review the shower gel and body lotion just yet. I’ve been using them a ton lately so I feel like it’s about time that I’m reviewing these guys. So, if you’re interested in finding out what these two body care products are like and whether or not Bath & Body Works products are worth their hype. Make sure you continue reading this post!

Let’s just immediately dive into it and start off by talking about the shower gel. Somehow I just really like shower gels and I love to occasionally try new ones. This particular one spoke to me, partly because of the way it looks. The bottle is clear but does have a very pretty design on it. That in combination with the silver lid makes it a very pretty looking product. It looks young and playful, but luxurious and classy at the same time. It’s definitely a nice product to have standing in your shower. And even though it’s obviously more important to look at the quality of the product, I do like the fact that it just looks really, really good.

The bottle has a pretty decent size and comes with 295 ml of product. That’s a little more than the regular 250 ml you get in lots of showergels, so I think that’s really nice. These shower gels come in a very wide array of scents, from which it’s very difficult to choose. However, I ended up thinking that the Warm Vanilla Sugar scent was the best smelling one available.

It just smells like autumn and winter in a bottle. But not in a traditional way. You know, Bath & Body Works has lots of autumnal and wintery scents. But they are very standard. However, this is a very standard smell, that smells very unique. This is getting really, really vague and I don’t think it makes any sense anymore. Anyway, this is just a very nice warm smelling product. It has this warmth in it that makes you want to cuddle up in your comfiest clothes and a blanket. Obviously it’s called Warm Vanilla Sugar so it definitely has that vanilla scent to it, but it’s not as basic as some vanilla smelling products can be. I just think it’s a really nice scent.

The shower gel itself is pretty basic. I could make it sound very impressive and lovely, and it definitely is lovely, but it’s not that different than every other shower gel is. It’s just a very basic product in terms of texture. It does get very soapy, which I like. And it does make me feel really nice and clean. A little bit of it goes a very long way and therefore this bottle will be around for a while.

In terms of the strength of the scent I’m not sure whether I think it’s like really strong or not. If you use this in combination with the body lotion the scent will definitely linger for a good couple of hours, maybe even half a day. But if you use the shower gel on its own, it’s not as long lasting.

Having said that, let’s move on to the body lotion. This is the Warm Vanilla Sugar Super Smooth Body Lotion and I have to say at first I didn’t really recognise it. With that I’m trying to say that I didn’t realise that this was from the same range. It was in the same little compartment in the store, but by the looks of it I just wasn’t sure. After reading the packaging with a little more focus I did find out that this was the matching body lotion. But because the design of the label on the packaging is so different, it wasn’t as obvious to me as it could have been.

Anyway, the design of the packaging has gotten a little boring over time. Last year they were all fun and cute and now they are very straight to the point and mainly text. However, the rest of the packaging is just as cute as the shower gel packagings. They do have that fun little lid thingy and the pretty shape to them. These do come with slightly less product than the shower gels do, but well, that’s just something we will have to live with.

In terms of the way it smells, this body lotion isn’t much different from the shower gel. The main difference between the two is the fact that this one is a little stronger than the shower gel is. The scent is a bit more out there and therefore it does linger for longer. For example, last night at around 10 PM I used this body lotion. When I woke up this morning at 11 AM (little late, I know) I could still clearly smell the scent. Now that I’m writing this post at 1 PM the scent is still there but it has gotten a bit less strong. So all in all I do think that the scent is pretty okay in terms of strength and how long it lingers.

When it comes to moisturising your body, which is the most important thing about a body lotion, I have to say I’m not disappointed. More often than not these strongly perfumed body lotions don’t do much for our skin. However, this one is definitely an exception. The texture of this body lotion is really creamy and rich. You can feel that there’s a lot of moisture in it. Therefore it does do a great job at moisturising my skin. Even when it’s very dry.

Because it is a rather rich moisturiser it doesn’t sink into the skin as quickly as for example the Body Shop Body Yoghurts do, but that’s okay. It’s not like I have to wait 10 minutes before I can put on any clothes.

Overall I’m impressed by these two products. Especially the body lotion is really amazing in terms of quality and I like the scent in both products. I think it’s the perfect scent for autumn and winter and I really like how they are rather strong, yet very moisturising. These are definitely a little more expensive than your regular body care products from the drugstore, but since the quality of them is this nice I do think that they are worth it.

That will be it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review, and be sure to let me know what you think of these two body care products and whether or not you’d buy them yourself!
