Natural Beauty: Balance Me Balancing Face Moisturiser

11/07/2017

My July LF Beauty Box actually arrived recently which means it’s time for me to hurry up with the reviews about the products of June’s box. One of the products that I haven’t reviewed so far but that I am very excited about is the Balance Me Balancing Face Moisturiser. It’s not the first time I’ve received a product from this brand in the LF Beauty Box and I really loved the previous items, so I knew this was going to be great. However, you can never know for sure before you’ve tried it. So, if you’re interested in finding out whether it’s as great as I thought it would be or not, make sure you continue reading!

Let’s start off with packaging. This moisturiser comes in a small tube with white and green colours on it. It’s very basic and simple and I like it. I have to note that the size of my tube is a little smaller than it would regularly be because this is a sample size, but the design of the full size is the same. However, the full size does comes in a bottle-like packaging rather than a tube. Aside from that it’s the same thing.

Anyway, on the front of the packaging it says that it’s 99% natural and that’s a thing Balance Me is all about. Their products are made out of mostly natural ingredients which, I think, is a great thing. I personally don’t focus too much on that, but if you’re someone who does, this might actually make this product even more interesting for you.

Balance Me Balancing Face Moisturiser – €29,45 (for 50ml)

On the back of the tube Balance Me tells us that this is a light-weight yet hydrating moisturiser which is rich in anti-oxidants, essential fatty acids and vitamin E. It’s designed to smooth, balance and soothe the skin. Aside from that it also says in slightly smaller letters that it’s free of parabens, dea, mineral oils, sulphates, pegs, petroleum, silicones, propylane, glycol, microbeads, artificial fragrances and colours. In other words: it’s a light-weight moisturiser without ingredients you don’t want to be in your moisturiser.

In my opinion the claims sound pretty good and pretty realistic. It’s not like a moisturiser can’t be light-weight and hydrating in one. And I have to say they truly weren’t lying about that. This really is one of those super nice and light moisturisers that feel super thin and fresh on the skin, but it does really hydrate and moisturise my skin. It gives my skin all of the moisture it needs and I really like that about it.

Aside from the amazingly light-weight hydrating formula there is something else about this formula that I really enjoy. It’s actually the one thing that sets my current favourite moisturiser (the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel). That thing is that it has some sort of smoothness to it that other products just don’t. And it really is about the texture, not about the smoothness of the skin. It’s very difficult to describe but it almost feels like you’re putting a satin-like fluid all over your skin and that’s really great.

Smell wise this isn’t the best product ever. Most perfume-free or artificial fragrance-free products don’t smell that good and this is no exception to that rule. However, I have smelled way worse moisturisers and it’s also up to your personal preferences if you like it or not, so it’s definitely not a reason to stay away from this product.

Lastly when it comes to actually improving my skin I think this moisturiser is amazing. I did have pretty high expectations of it – like I said in the first intro bit of the review – but it exceeded those expectations. This product makes my skin feel so nicely hydrated, soft and soothed. It’s actually one of the best moisturisers I have ever tried and I don’t just say that for fun, I actually really mean it.

Overall I think it’s clear I’m in love with this moisturiser, way more than I expected to be. It’s not just and okay product, it’s actually pretty amazing. It has a very unique and amazing texture, it has 99% natural ingredients and it’s free of terrible ingredients and it does amazing things for my skin. All together it’s a great product and I highly recommend it, especially if you have combination to oily skin and/or if you’re really into natural beauty products!

And that’s about it for today. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s review and be sure to let me know what you think of this moisturiser and also let me know which moisturiser is your current favourite!

XOXO, Nicole.
