I‘m a huge fan of autumn, so the fact that it’s finally here makes me more than excited. Autumn has pretty much always been my favourite season and therefore it’s something I look forward to all year. To celebrate the fact that autumn is finally upon us I wanted to share a few of my autumn beauty picks, the products I reach for throughout the oh so amazing season. If you’re interested in finding out which products I think are perfect for autumn, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off with an eyeshadow palette. It might seem like all eyeshadows are perfect all year round, and that’s definitely true, but during autumn I do like to use different shades. I like to use warmer tones on my eyes. Tones like cranberry, golden colours and warmer tones of brown. Those colours really remind me of autumn and therefore feel like the perfect fit for my eyeshadow looks during that season.
One of my favourite palettes to create those kinds of looks with is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. I’ve had this for such a long time, but I really noticed that I mostly use it during autumn and winter. It’s full of really pretty warm tones and perfect for everyday. I really like it!
Another thing I like to do during autumn is darkening up the eye look a little using eye pencils. I’m not a hero with eyeliner, especially not with liquid eyeliner so that’s just something I decided not to do at all, but I do enjoy using eye pencils. These are just a little bit easier to work with and they do give a really pretty look. They are great for darkening up the lash line and creating a more sultry look, which is what I like. Especially during autumn.
My current favourite pencils to darken up the lash line with are these two from Clinique. They are the Quickliner For Eyes Intense in a deep black colour and in a really pretty brown colour. They are very rich and pigmented and they stay in place all day long. I absolutely love them!
Moving on to the cheek department. Where I love a super glowy cheek in summer, I prefer something a little more natural and soft during autumn. To do that I love using the Too Faced Love Light in the shade Blinded By The Light. It’s a really pretty light highlighting shade and it adds a gorgeous and buildable glow to the cheeks. It can be build up to be very intense, but it can also be used in a very soft and natural way, which is how I like to use it during this time of year.
For blusher I like using these blush sticks. I don’t know what it is about them, but lately I’ve been loving them. The great thing about blush sticks is that they stay in place all day, they are very easy to work with and they do survive a bit of rain. The one I use the most at the moment is the Clinique Chubby Stick for cheeks in a really pretty plummy pink. I really like the way this looks on my cheeks!
When it comes to powder blushes I like using more plummy colours during autumn. My current favourites are the Inglot AMC Face Blush in the shade 27 and the Maxfactor Creme Puff Blush in the shade Gorgeous Berries. The Inglot shade is a combination between a neutral pink blush colour and a darker reddish/purple shade. Because of the combination between those two shades it is very natural and wearable but also very unique.
The other blush, the Maxfactor Creme Puff Blush, just has the nicest texture in the world. This really is one of the most amazing blushes I’ve ever used, especially from the drugstore department. This blush really wowed me when I first tried it. This one has a bit of a similar colour as the Inglot blush does, but it’s a little darker. I really like it!
Lastly we can’t forget about the lips. For lips I usually gravitate towards nudes, but during autumn I like to spice things up with some berry shades. Of course it’s not all berry, I still have days where I prefer something a little more natural. On more natural days I like to use the Clinique Butter Gloss Lipstick in the shade Strawberry Ice. This is a bit of a red colour but because it’s pretty sheer it’s very wearable.
If I want to go even more nude I like using my Bobbi Brown lipstick in the shade Brownie Pink. This is a nude colour but because of the brown in it, it does have something autumnal to it.
If I really want to go for that berry lip look I love using my fairly new love: the YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in the shade Smoking Plum. This is just the prettiest berry/plum colour you’ll ever find and it’s extremely comfortable as well. I’m obsessed with it.
And those were all of my autumn beauty picks. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and be sure to let me know which products you love using throughout autumn!
