Autumn is almost here which means it’s time for more autumnal posts on my blog. Today I’m going to kick it off with a post filled with items I consider essential for autumn. If you love autumn just as much as I do and love to read more about it, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off with something obvious: you need scarfs. It’s just an essential. I’m not a person who wears a lot of scarfs outfit wise, but when it’s starting to get a little chilly I do love wearing them whenever I go outside. Last month I got this gorgeous scarf from my lovely grandfather. I believe it’s from a store called Only.
I really like how soft, thick and warm it is and I’m obsessed with the pattern. Of course there are tons of different scarfs available out there in the world, but I do think that having at least one in your wardrobe is an essential.
Makeup wise I love wearing products that are waterproof since in the Netherlands autumn basically means rain. One of the products I know can survive through that is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation. I’m not sure whether or not it claims to be waterproof, but it really is. I’ve worn this so much during heavy storms and humid days and this stuff doesn’t go anywhere!
I also really enjoy using the Urban Decay De-slick Setting Spray during autumn. That because it seals in your makeup and it makes sure that whatever happens, it won’t go anywhere. So if you don’t feel like purchasing lot’s of waterproof makeup, this setting spray might be a great option.
Brows are very important for me, but even more important is making my brows stay in place all day. Nothing is worse than wearing half-faded brow makeup. It just looks odd. A product I like using when I know water/rain is going to be involved is the Sephora brow pencil. It’s waterproof and has a very fine and precise tip so it will stay in place all day and it’s super easy to work with.
.Aside from faded brows there is one more thing I hate just as much: panda eyes (caused by mascara and eye pencil). Therefore I like using the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil as well as the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara when I expect to find myself in a situation where I might get wet. These two products don’t claim to be waterproof, but honey, these are going no where.
The last two autumn proof makeup products I want to show you are the Inglot AMC blushes and the Benefit Watt’s Up Highlighter. Normally powder blushes aren’t the most long lasting products, but for some reason these Inglot blushes just don’t budge. They stay in place no matter what and they will actually survive and entire day. How impressive is that!
The Benefit Watt’s Up Highlighter is a cream highlighter and therefore a product that will stay in place much, much longer than any other powder highlighter would. Aside from that it’s also absolutely gorgeous and a great highlighter to wear on a daily basis. I highly recommend giving it a try!
And that concludes today’s post. I hope you enjoyed reading it and be sure to let me know which products you think are essentials for autumn!
XOXO, Nicole.
