Back in October my boyfriend got me these amazing AKG earphones for my birthday. I really loved the quality of them and the way music sounded through them, but for some reason my ears and earphones just don’t seem to work together. With every bump in the road they fell out of my ears and it was just a hustle. Because of that I decided I wanted to buy myself headphones. After debating for a while on which ones to get I ended up getting the AKG Y45BT Headphones and today I’m going to tell you guys everything about them. So, if you’re interested in finding out more about these gorgeous headphones, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off with the design. I have debated for quite some time whether I would get the AKG Y45BT or the JBLE45BT. Both of them were white, not too huge and pretty amazing quality wise. I ended up going for theAKG ones because they’re just a little more unique. Instead of being plain white this one has a brown, leather inside. Even though it’s just a little detail I do think it makes quite a big difference and I think it looks really pretty.
Shape wise I also really like this one. Instead of being very curvy this one is just sleek and straight to the point. It only has curves where it needs to have curves and the rest is just straight. I really like that sleek and elegant design and I think it looks really good on.

One of my main focus points when choosing a pear of headphones was the shape and more specifically the size of the ear part. I have quite a small head and therefore a huge pair of headphones would look ridiculous on me. I wanted something small and kind of girly and that’s exactly what this is. It’s just big enough to cover my ear, but it doesn’t cover the entire side of my head so that’s a big, big plus!
Aside from the design I didn’t really have any other things that this headphone needed to have in order for me to buy it. I wasn’t that interested in Bluetooth connection and battery time and things like that because I was pretty convinced that I wouldn’t be using the Bluetooth function. I’m always very, very scared that something will go wrong and that the entire bus can listen to my music without me noticing it, so using a Bluetooth option isn’t really for me in that case.
But I have to admit that I was totally wrong. I’ve actually never used this with the cord. From day one I’ve been using the Bluetooth function and it works great. It has never failed and it’s quite a strong connection. With some headphones the connection can be a little shaky but the connection with this pair is pretty strong. It has only been a little ‘blotchy’ back when it was literally almost out of battery, but in that case it’s pretty logical that it isn’t able to hold on to that signal as strong anymore.
Talking about battery, let’s discuss the lifetime of these headphones. Online I’ve read that it’s supposed to last 8 hours on Bluetooth and when you use the cord it doesn’t cost any battery at all. I have to say that in my experience it lasts way more than 8 hours. I have to say that I don’t listen to music a lot, only when I’m in the bus which is about 1.5 hours a day and it lasts about 2 weeks without charging so that is pretty impressive.
When it comes to the quality of the sound I have to say that I think it’s pretty much incredible. I don’t know that much about sound quality and stuff like that when it comes to music since I’m just really not that into music, but for me this is pretty great. It’s way better than the quality of those basic Apple earphones and in my opinion those aren’t bad at all either. The thing I really like about these headphones is that you can hear the bass really well, better compared to basic earphones, and therefore it feels like you’re experiencing more of the music.
I also feel like you don’t have to set the volume as high with these headphones as you might do when you’re wearing earphones or lower quality headphones. I’m very careful with my ears and everything that has to do with that since I just really don’t want to damage my hearing so not having to turn up the volume as much does mean a lot to me. With this I always have it at volume level 3 or 4 (3 or 4 of those little blocks on your Iphone).
And to be honest I don’t have anything else to say about these headphones apart from the fact that I’m really, really glad I got them. It saves me the trouble of having to put my earphones back in my ears the entire ride and the quality is a lot better. I also really like the look of them and I have to say it’s really nice not having that cord to deal with. Now my phone doesn’t have to be located close to my headphones and that can come in pretty handy. So if you’re like me and earphones just don’t stay in your ears, you might want to give a pair of headphones a try. It’s really worth it!
And that’s pretty much it for today. Thank you so much for reading today’s post and be sure to let me know if you use earphones or headphones and also let me know which ones you think are the best!
XOXO, Nicole.
