I’ve been using makeup for about 6 years now. Maybe even 7. Throughout the years I’ve tried and tested a lot of products. Some of which were terrible and some of which were incredible. But one thing not many products ended up being are signature products: products I’ve been using for years. Products I’ve repurchased a million times and just cant’ get enough of. Today I’m going to share with you my signature beauty products. If you’re interested in finding out which products I’m talking about, make sure you continue reading!
Let’s start off with some skin care. I started using the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Moisturiser when I was about 14, which is four years ago. The women at the pharmacy recommended it to me and I ended up really liking the way it worked on my skin. It’s a very light weight moisturiser. It’s gel based and it’s perfect for oily, combination and blemished skin.
This moisturiser is perfect to use underneath makeup. It sinks into the skin super quickly and it doesn’t make me oily at all. This is already my third tube and I really flipping love it!
Next up is the The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser. I’ve been using this for ages as well. I believe this is like my fourth or fifth tube of it. When I first got it I actually didn’t really know what this was meant to be, but thanks to some comments on my blog I found out that it’s kinda like a serum. You can use it on top of your moisturiser and before your makeup primer.
The reason why this is such a great product is because it instantly mattifies the skin, but not in a weird way, and it really minimises the appearance of pores. If you want to you could perfectly use it as a makeup base, it’s great for that, but for me it’s just an essential extra step.
Onto the makeup part of this post. First off is a primer, the Nivea Men After Shave Balm. Even though I haven’t been using it for four years straight, I have recently finished my old bottle and started a new one, which is quite impressive considering a bottle of this stuff lasts you over a year!
I just keep going back to this stuff as a primer because it’s just so good. It really does extend the wearing time of my makeup and I like the texture way better than the texture of most other actual makeup primers. It’s super budget proof and it just works like a dream!
I didn’t really have any face makeup products that I’ve been using for ages since I do actually change that up quite frequently, but I do have a powder I’ve been using for quite a while. This is my fourth tub of the Vichy Dermablend Finishing Powder and it definitely won’t be the last.
This powder is perfect because it comes in a huge tub with lots of product, it’s transparant and it has a gorgeous finish. It mattifies my skin in a very natural looking way. It doesn’t look cakey at all and it keeps my makeup looking perfect all day. This really is one of the best finishing powders out there and I highly recommend it!
Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while might have seen this one coming. It’s the Maybelline Brow Satin. I discovered it back in London I believe and I haven’t used anything else since. A look without the Brow Satin isn’t a complete one for me. This is actually my sixth one!
Even though lots of people aren’t a big fan of this product because of the spongy powder side, I love it. The pencil has a nice and thin shape, the texture of it is not too soft but not too hard either and it has the perfect amount of colour pay off. The powder side is perfect to soften the harsh lines of the pencil and it really finishes of the brows. Together it’s the perfect product for the perfect brows!
The Maybelline Color Tattoo in On and On Bronze is another one of my staple products. This is my fourth jar and I still love it as much as I did when I started using it. I once saw it in a makeup tutorial by Ingrid Nilsen (Missglamorazzi) on Youtube and I fell in love with it so I decided to buy one of these myself.
It totally opened up the world of cream shadows for me and I’m really thankful for that. I don’t go a day without this underneath my eyeshadow because it’s just the perfect intensifying base. It makes every eyeshadow stay in place through sweat and rain and it makes the colour you put on top of it a million times as intense. I can’t recommend this product enough!
This next product isn’t a surprise either. It’s my MAC lipstick in the shade Peach Blossom. When I first saw it online I just wasn’t convinced it would be a colour for me. But when the mua at MAC applied it to my lips I totally got why the internet loved this lipstick so much.
It’s literally the perfect everyday, all day, all night, anywhere, everywhere lipstick. It looks good with all kinds of looks: dramatic, neutral and it’s perfect for every occasion. Day or night, work or shopping. It’s incredible.
And to finish this post off we have the Beautyblender. I still remember those days I thought I hated makeup sponges, but when I tried this sponge for the first time all of that changed. Really, if you’re not a fan or don’t think you’re a fan of makeup sponges, try this. No copy, no dupe, just the real deal.
The reason why I love it so much is because the Beautyblender is capable of applying every single foundation perfectly. Even those that are hard to apply without them looking streaky or patchy, the Beautyblender will do that for you. And to top that all off, it also creates the perfect and most flawless looking finish. It’s everything you need and more!
And that was it for today. Those were my signature makeup products. I hope you enjoyed reading today’s post and let me know which products are your signature makeup products!
