For the past few months I’ve been eyeing this gorgeous Tarte 4 piece blush set on QVC. I kept almost buying it and but never really ended up going through with it. After debating on getting it forever I finally bought it two weeks ago. Today it’s time to review the first item from this palette: this gorgeous Tarte blush brush. If you’re interested in finding out whether or not it’s any good, make sure you continue reading!
The Tarte blush brush that comes in this limited edition blush set has a shiny golden handle with Tarte printed in it and white hairs. The handle looks quite thin and settle and the hairs aren’t too extreme either. Honestly when I first took a look at it (without knowing it was the brush that came in a blush set) I thought it was meant to be a highlighter brush because of its size. When I found out it was actually a brush to apply your blush with I wasn’t completely sure about it and whether or not I’d like it, but I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt.
The hairs of the brush are white and for some reason I just really like that. The hairs are very soft and fluffy and they are very flexible. They move around a lot and aren’t very stiff. Normally I prefer brushes that have some stiffness to them, but for some reason I don’t hate that this one is so fluffy.
The shape of the brush is pretty basic. The hairs are smaller at the start, wider in the middle and at the top they come together again to form a round shape. Overall I’d say it’s a more oval shape. The thing that first caught my attention was the fact that the hairs are so long. I mean it’s quite a long brush for a blush brush. But in my opinion that’s definitely not a bad thing!
Like I said at first I felt like the brush was a bit on the smaller side in order to be great for applying blush. Now that I’ve used it a couple of times I actually changed my mind about it. Because it’s so small it’s actually perfect for applying the product just where you want it and nowhere else. You have lots of control and I like that.
Another thing I like about this brush is that it’s not a brush that quickly causes you to over-apply your blush. It’s not a brush that picks up way too much colour. It actually picks up the perfect amount of powder and transfer the perfect amount of that powder onto your skin.
Because of the size of the brush I think it’s quite a multifunctional one. It obviously can be used to apply your blush with, but I also think it’s absolutely perfect for applying either your bronzer or your highlighter with. So if you already have a blush brush you love, it’s still not a useless tool to have!
Overall I’m in love with this brush. It just looks absolutely stunning, the hairs are really nice and soft. The shape of the brush works perfectly for me and it’s also a multipurpose product. Aside from that I think that it’s just a great quality makeup tool and I think it’s great Tarte included it in this little set. Even if you don’t want the entire set, I still highly recommend giving this brush a chance!
The Tarte Golden Cheek Brush comes in their 4 Piece Blush Set that is available here for €35,-.
